I was wondering is there is anybody that filed late August ever received an rfe yet? and does anybody know the success rate for this country (Gambia)?

I'm sure there has been some who have received a RFE from August. They may not be on VJ but their are those who have. Is there another question that prompted you to ask about an RFE?

Gambia has a small contingency of applicants you would be hard press to find to answer your question. You could search for others from your country and personally reach out to them with any question pertaining to your embassy and the process. Just select your "flag" in your profile on the left column and look for the link for "others from Gambia" or something like that. Good luck.

Unfortunately, I don't think that anyone is in the clear until they receive the Approval Notice (NOA2). There are people who received RFEs 100+ days after they received the Receipt Notice (NOA1).

One case 500+ days and RFE your not safe until  NOA2 and some rare  cases not even then.

Yikes!

I'm growing a lot through this immigration process. I, like a lot of people, have my moments but I've come to realize that there is only so much that I can do. I-129F/K-1 Visa is only the first part of this lengthy process; there are still AOS, ROC, and, for some people, Naturalization. There are times when I feel overwhelmed by such a great undertaking but I do my best to keep my eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel. This too shall pass. I can worry my life away but I would rather revel in the fact that each day is a day closer to my happily ever after.

Hold on, our happy-endings are coming!

Very well said I have been following your post and replies and you have been giving well thought out and written advice in many areas of VJ. That means you are maturing VJ wise and the immigration's process wise. That's very good. Yes happy times are coming just hang in there. I've been through the mill as my time line can portray, so I can understand most of what folks are feeling here in VJ. I'm just here to help where I can especially if they are petitioning from the Philippines. Are you the beneficiary might I ask?

Who are the "experts" that can guide you? hmmmm.

Haven't checked in here for a while, just saw this. I don't think we need "experts" to just chat about random stuff. We come here to VJ for insights and advice regarding the process, but the group chat is more for talking about whatever to others going through the same process. You know, just trying to keep each other sane while waiting for our approvals. ;)

I don't think @Greenbaum  meant in his post the way you took it. I think he simply meant for the amount of time and information he puts out to people in this forum why would you not at least read and listen to his advice and or insights. I don't think he was taunting his expertise in the way you took it. Just look for yourself the amount of examples, letters, pamphlets and links that he has posted it's all there for you us too see. IMO I found most of what he has put out to be a very good rallying point for ANY K1 journey!!!!!!

When I made that statement it was done so that a those are in the "chat" group would understand that their not amongst experts but others like them when they go off to some FB or chat group. I see it all the time that when a group of people go off and start a FB or some other means to chat about the process they loose perspective because they are asking others only about their experience and if they are all about the same point in their journey it's just a sharing moment. Just like on VJ they are asking the wrong audience on what to do. Some one from Germany is asking the group, who are at the same point in their collective journey, and are from different country will in most cases receive the wrong information. That's because each embassy is different. What works for on may not work another.

Here is a recent case of someone in a group and they are comparing themselves to others from that group when "her" experience is just like everyone else and is normal. But because she is in a group she is judging her path with theirs. Just saying.

They came to VJ for a reason and that was to have a better understanding of what needs to be done to reach their goal of a visa. Most want to do it without any hiccups.  Their are "experts" here on VJ that spend hours of their time volunteering to help with little or no recognition. Most don't even get a thank you for a reply with many links to help answer "the next step" question.

That is what was behind my post. Enjoy your day.

You guys, I totally did not mean it like that at all. 😅 Sorry if that came off totally the wrong way, but I intended the answer to be in a kinda joking way. And I apparently failed, big time. I guess I really am not as funny as I thought I was.

Also, thanks for all the info. That's why we are here on VJ in the first place. :)

I get your point @Greenbaum, but like what I said, the group chat is more for getting to know other filers. Believe me, we're all aware none of us are experts since we're all at the same point of the process. But it just helps to talk to someone who knows what you're going through, you know? Like, there are stuff we wanna talk about, but our friends in real life can't really relate since they've never gone through the same experience filing for K-1 and everything. But there are others on the same boat, who know how LDR feels like, etc. We do it here, but it's not real time and not everyone always opens VJ and since most everyone has Messenger.. I hope you get my point as well. 🤷‍♀️

Anyway. Back to regular programming. :D

I know that I read tons of stuff that is posted, throughout the forums, that can help with the process. None of us in the chat group are comparing our journey to anyone elses, each one is different and has different obstacles to overcome.  Sometimes we talk about our feelings, since I am the petitioner its nice to hear what its like on their side to be the beneficiary and the stress on their side, and vice versa.  While we dont have a lot of questions right now, it doesn't mean that we arent reading and listening to what others are saying.  It just makes it seem like getting involved, with the people who are right there with us in filing,  outside of the forums is almost looked down on.  We understand that people put a lot of time and effort into helping here, and believe me we appreciate it so much.  Hell more than half of us probably wouldn't be where we are without this forum. But we are building friendships and discussing various things.  There is only so many times you can talk to your "real life" friends and family before they get sick of hearing about it. With these friendships and bonding times, we can actually express our joys and worries during the process, with people who understand. Also talks about finding some of their comfort items when they move to the states, for example finding a good coffee that may be similar to what they have at home. Or what kind of winter coats/jackets are best for a cold state that another is moving to.  I work graveyard shift, just the other day I was talking to the girls in chat while staying awake during the day because we were under tornado watches and warnings.   To be able to talk about things in our lives, in real time, is really nice and comforting.  Another person in the chat actually stated that its more calming than for them to go onto the forums every 2 hours LOL. It provides an outlet for them, for all of us, to be able to talk to people who are going through the same thing, about random stuff, with the occasional comment about processing times, or flights, or even talking about the differences between the old case tracker and the new site.

Is there something, that yall would like to see from us, to show that we are reading and acknowledging the things that we see? I know when I have questions, I tend to do a search first and most of the time the answer can be found.  If I cant find an answer, I definitely will post asking, but more times than not the answers can be found in even the previous months postings/thread BECAUSE of the work that the veterans have put in. I also find a lot of answers to my questions, in my country specific area, so if its something specific about the interview, medical or ACRO, I go there.  Ive also found a lot of helpful information about shipping items from him to me in the UK forum as well. But at this stage of the process, I personally have not come across a question that I couldnt find somewhere in the previous responses, in other threads, or other country specific areas. Im sure that when it gets closer to the NOA2 and NVC stages, there will be more questions that I personally will need help with, but right now I am just doing a lot of reading and absorbing information.  And I know a lot of us in the group chat are doing the same.

I get your point. I'm glad you haven't lost your will to get through this. I guess I don't understand the entire "feel good" thought process that a group brings. It maybe, my background, my sex or that fact when I grew up I didn't have a cell phone that allowed me to have communication with people from all walks of life.

I for one went through what you are going through but I didn't spend as much time chating with others and checking by the min, the hour or the day my status and then walk away disappointed. I just went on my merry way and lived my life as I knew how. When it happened it happened. Of course there is the other side that didn't experience and that is packing up, saying goodbye to my family and friends and the town that I grew up in so I'm sure the emotions are different for a petitioner then the beneficiary. Yes, time to get back to your regularly schedule program.
