I've called the NVC several times in the last couple of weeks.. but after the usual pre-recorded msg they hang-up. But my question here is about the email that some seem to get when the NVC forwards things to the Consulate/Embassy.

Anyone?

Call NVC until you get a live person, they will give you the case number. Also, go to their webpage and use the contact form to send them the email address where you would like to receive communication. I called and received my case number and about a week later I received the email, we both did because I asked them to use both email addresses. Maybe 2 weeks later the hardcopy came in the mail. I listed my address as his mailing address so it came to my house but it was addressed to him.  Hope that helps.

Hi,

my case says  "READY". Can I go ahead and schedule medical examination + visa appointment or should I wait to receive a letter? I feel like I am missing something. Some of you do schedule everything now but I need the "Embassy appointment letter containing your case number" to go to the medical exam. It means I have to wait for documents before going? (P4?) Or is it just some kind of confirmation tht I will get electronically once I book the interview app?
Thank you!

It depends on the embassy. If I understood it right some people schedule their interviews for Paris as soon as CEAC status says ready, because the interview dates for that embassy have been several months in the future recently, but I'm not sure if this really works. You should post your question in the french thread in the regional subforum for europe, I'm sure people there can answer it much better.

The first place one should look for answers to your questions concerning your embassy is at your embassy's website. Your's is https://fr.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/finacee/  Once their you will typically find the "next steps" in your journey. I advocate this to everyone as it's common sense. Asking people for other embassies could return an answer to a procedural question with the wrong information causing you great hardship. Therefore I also advocate that you visit your regional sub-forum here on VJ.

The answers to all your questions will be on the embassy page.

Correct the DS-160 at the interview. It's done all the time without any problems.

Simple. Just present the one that is "GOOD" and destroy the one that isn't. CO doesn't know if you have one or one thousand DS's. They care only that the one you hand them at the interview is the one you intend to use. It's such a small thing why waste the time creating a new one.
