A question to all those who received an email from the NVC when their application was forwarded-on to the Consulate. Did you make a special request to be notified when this happened? Or did it just happen on it's own? I know the NOA2 797C states that " You will receive notification by mail when the NVC has sent your Petition to the Consulate or Embassy.".. but my Immigration lawyer has advised me that in fact that rarely happens.

Also.. to what email address is it sent? The Petitioner? The Beneficiary? Both?

Thanks in advance.

JM

129f K-1 CSC

NOA #1 - 06-11-19

NOA #2 - 09-20-19

Nada since then.

Sorry.. the questions were two posts above my last. Here they are above.

You don’t need to make a special request. Once the case ships, they ‘should’ notify you by email.
A lot of people I’ve spoken to did recieve an email from NVC, although they knew it had shipped beforehand by checking their case number anyway.

the next shipment is this coming Tuesday.

Were not far apart timewise. Your NOA #2 was 9/26.. ours was 9/20. We've not heard a peep since then.

We started calling NVC at the beginning of October and got our status and then case number pretty quick. We just missed the last shipment date.

its interesting you haven’t managed to get through to a Hunan at NVC at all. My fiancé is the one that’s been calling as, ya know, I’m in the U.K., but he hasn’t struggled to actually speak to anyone at all and they’ve been super helpful.

I’d say try calling NVC again if you don’t receive a shipped email this coming Tuesday, and if you still can’t get hold of anyone and haven’t had an update maybe you need to contact your embassy to see if it’s arrived?

I am also in the same boat and waiting to see if my status changes this coming Tuesday/Wednesday. I did also call around mid October and got through to someone after being on hold for around an hour and was able to verify that NVC received my packet and provided me my case number. We will see what happens in a few days.

I've been reading some of the comments and some of you are confused as to "what is next" and you are not sure what to do or who to contact or even when they will contact you.

I have authored a PDF on the first page of this thread and it answers all those questions. From when will it be sent, how do I contact NVC (BTW they just changed their phone hours now 7am to 12pm) to whether I will get notified to when will my file be sent to the embassy.

I hope you will take the time to get a copy and read it for a better understanding of what will take place.

Good luck to all.

Don't do anything in advance until the case is ready at embassy and the embassy sends you an email to the petitioner to follow these steps for Scheduling interview, Medical exam, police clearance etc.  Usually takes about 2 months to receive.

You should go to your sub-forum website here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/ and here is a recent thread for some who are processing a K-1 and their recent experience (see below).

Also, more info here from your portal http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United

A wealth of information on this thread

Thank you! Very helpful info. My case shows ready and we were able to get thru and schedule appt, where the website would not allow previously. Another poster with similar timeline at same embassy posted they received P3 and I was curious if they actual did receive the email or not.

We're having trouble contacting the embassy. The phone is just an automated option. No matter what option we choose we can't get through to a person to schedule an interview. The one option gives a phone number to call for "Visa Interviews" but when we call that, the person who answers tells us they don't schedule K1 visas and to call the automated line again. Also no option to select an interview date online.

Frustrating so far, going to try e-mailing I guess.

I made a “special request” by sending The NVC an email to notify me about the case number. Besides that, the petitioner’s email is listed in the I-129f application.

Thank you, I’m fairly certain I’ll be shipped on the 12th Nov rather than this week.

I'm also still "at NVC" and we have a similar NVC/Case number date.

Hoping it leaves Nov 12. Mine is shipping to Sweden.

The way I see it is you are getting to far ahead of yourself. The embassy has specific instructions as to what to do to schedule an appointment. Here is what the first step is once the file has arrived at the embassy and your case is showing "ready":

Complete online the form DS-160. Online Non-immigrant Visa Application & Registration and return immediately to this office by email the confirmation page, with a photocopy of the passport’s biographic data page. If your children will apply with you, a separate form DS-160 for each child must be completed in full. This office cannot process your case until these documents have been received. Information about this form may be found on the Department of State webpage at http://ceac.state.gov/aenniv/

I'm not getting ahead of myself. Our status has been "Ready" since the end of October, we got the P3 and other instructions. We've followed all of the documentation. Medical is done, DS-160 is complete, Visa Fee is paid, police records, translations, and confirmation e-mails have been sent. We didn't hear back from e-mails on anything so tried calling only to receive automated machines with options that lead to nowhere and hang up on you. Their instructions tell you to call, schedule online, or e-mail. We tried all 3, couldn't get through to a person between 12-2. No option on the web-site after paying the fee to schedule an appointment. And no response from e-mail.

Through the advice received in some private messages from a couple that recently went through that embassy, we finally got through. Apparently their automated machine works similar to the NVC where if all the lines are busy you can choose different options and hear things but then it just hangs up on you. We called at 8am local time when they opened today and got through and have now set an appointment for Nov 27th.
