K1 visa Delhi Consulate

I need some help and advice.

I am a US Citizen and got engaged in Aug 2006 in Punjab. I have lived here all my life and have visited my fiance twice since the engagement. I applied from us for fiance visa on Jan 2007, she got an interview May 23. She was given a 2-3 min interview. Seemed polite, they didnt drill her. There were no issues, no concerns, she had all the information and evidence. I have a good income but she was still given a 221g, they wanted to see her voter ID card, voting list and ration card. She said to submit it along with her passport at the VFS office in Jullunder. Do you know why this is? Should we be concerned?

I am a US Citizen for over 30 yrs. I am divorced with a child in US. Submitted my divorce decree.

Proof of Relationship- submitted over200 emails, 75 photos, copies of my passport and tickets showing 3 trips to visit my fiance in the last 10 months, phone bills showing over 100 dollars a month in calls.

Income- income is well over the min amount.

All documents were in order.

She submitted the new required documents within 3 days at theVFS along with her passport. I am super stressed and depressed..

Once she got a 221g, my dad personally knew 2 congressmen and they personally sent a letter and email to the embassy to see if they can help.

I am sorry for your troubles, it is not fair! All your papers seem to be in perfect order. Delhi is just being difficult lately, they are demanding all sorts of unnecessary paperwork. The requested papers were submitted by your fiancee just last week, give it time and hopefully she will get the approval soon.

There have apparently been a number of fraud visa cases in Delhi lately, thus their extra galata. Just give whatever they ask. Our thoughts & prayers are with you for a successful granted visa SOON!

I am worried about them sending it back to the US. I heard some horror stories here. I sent them an email now and I am dreading their response. I didnt think this would be such a horrible nightmare. I have already gotten 2 congressmen to send letters to them. one is head of the India Caucus in Congress. but i am not sure it helps.

Help of Congressmen I would think is a really good thing, they show respect for people in positions of power.
