I never eat chicken at a restaurant. Don’t eat fast food period. Hate lines. I don’t understand this at all. Must be a hell of a sandwich.

as I age I have very little tolerance for crowds and lines. Why no chicken at restaurants ?

Just like the steak and ketchup thing. So many better choices. I can do chicken at home when I’m bored.

I thought maybe it was a health thing is the reason I asked. I take it you dont eat fast food for health reasons ?

Along the lines of the steak ketchup thing. I have never eaten seafood or fish of any kind. I have tried to make myself eat it many times and almost gag trying to eat fish etc. At a fish fry I will eat slaw and hush puppies.

As I approach my golden years, I still get people that almost get huffy and isist I try shrimp, fish etc.

Its funny how people get worked up about what other people like or dont like isnt it

Yeah. The only time I have eaten fast food recently was at the airport. We were delayed and I didn't bring anything so I had to go for it eventually.

I'm not against eating 1500 calories in a single meal, but if I'm going to do that, there needs to be more nutritional value and less filler than what you get from typical fast food.

Yeah, just like with the scotch thing yesterday. I admit though, there's a couple of youngsters at work, probably mid 20's, who I see eating pop tarts for dinner a lot, and I do give them a hard time for that once in a while. I used to eat rubbish when I was in my 20's too. I eat pretty healthy now, but I wish I had started doing that earlier.

Chik-Fil-A is fine, and most around these parts will choose that over anything else or they will go to the gas station to get their chicken (it's a MD thing). They also have pretty decent salads. Really though... once you have chicken in the UK, any chicken here will seem subpar. I'm not a person that really enjoys beef, so it's usually chicken or seafood for me.

Yup, add chicken to the list of "foods that suck in the US compared to the UK," with bread being the very first on that list.

That being said, I am 100% going to try this chicken sandwich once the hysteria dies down. I eat meat only on the weekends now, but the non-fiance has announced his intent to try it on Friday afternoon at the Hollywood location. I shall give a secondhand report!

LOL... I don't know what it is about their chicken NB. Maybe it's handled with love, maybe they have room to breathe, maybe they eat good, and they have different handling standards after slaughter - but in the UK it will be the most flavorful piece of chicken you'll ever eat. Even the KFC tastes different!

I dont mind chicken here (never been to the UK, I'm NOT a traitor!), but rarely eat white meat.  It is nearly always overcooked and dried out.  It is so hard to find a properly prepared medium rare chicken breast outside my home.

The unknown chemical cocktail they add to white meat to make it moist... not a good thing, I'm sure.

Indeed. The secret ingredients are what makes it special. Just not in a good way.
