Marijuana use before medical

Hey all - so my Canadian fiance didn't even think twice about smoking weed since it's completely legal in Canada. Is that going to cause any issues with the Canadian medical exam? I just thought about this since it isn't legal in every state in the US yet... Starting to get very worried that she messed up.

Marijuana use is still banned federally, and immigration uses federal law.

The use will need to be disclosed for the medical (it is asked).

The use itself isn't a bar, although it may (likely IMO) result in up to a 1 year bar on medical grounds. They may or may not want to see evidence of being clean during or at the end of the process.

So if I use CBD oil that has a small amount of THC in it, I should tell them during the medical?

in order for CBD, or cannabinoid-rich hemp oil products to test positive on a drug test, an individual would have to be using unusually large amounts (above 1000-2000 mg) of the product. Due to the fact that it remains an unregulated drug, some CBD oils have as much as 1/10th the THC concentration as marijuana. Therefore, consuming high quantities of CBD oil will leave enough THC in your system to trigger a positive test result and cause impairment.

Unless you are actually using a THC product you shouldnt have any issues.
