Unfortunately, no. According to the State Department, the vast majority of AP are resolved within 60 days. However, occasionally, the are cases that would take many months or even years.

:( thanks for your help anyways

Hello Everyone,

I petitioned for my husband for immigration case and it is under administrative processing. Is there any way to speed up this process? Maybe by showing extreme hardship?

Any other suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you

Your husband is from Pakistan....which is known for extended administrative processing.......there are cases in Pakistan which have been in AP for much longer than 2 months........unfortunately, you have no options other than to wait.

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do but wait (and occasionally check in with the consulate if you really want).

Extended AP with Pakistan is quite common. The US does not trust the PCCs for Pakistan (per the DOS reciprocity schedule) so manual investigations are implemented.

I believe this is because of a few reasons:

1) Many people with same/similar names require extra background checking

2) The police certificates are not really legit in the eye of the US

2 months AP probably would be on the shorter side. You should search the forum here but I think  a year AP is quite common
