Previous post?  Are we talking ancient history?  Cuz I just went back thru this thread and no one mentioned wanting her dead.

I know nothing about her other than what I have learned *here*.  And from that, I think she should have retired several years ago.  Diminished mental capacity aside, why wouldn't she want to relax and enjoy her last days on earth?  I plan to stop working between 62-65, personally.  Don't wish to work until I expire.

The topic of her "retirement" came up previously when she was being treated for lung cancer. Probably a few months back.

She is 86 years old and has major medical issues.

Not looking good for Ginsberg. I only wish her the best and  fully support her right to stay on the court as long as possible.

How was that wishing for her death.

I *did* say this wasn't about you, Nature Boy.  :star:

I usually don't read more than 2 lines.

To be fair if she was a conservative and being replaced by a liberal President would tip the scales, I am sure they would keep her on the seat until she passed. she could be in a coma for a year and that will not remove her,. Just not going to happen

Yep.  Seems logical to me that retirement from the court would be natural part of the conversation ......I hope she retires and lives to enjoy many more years.......

The dems will have a conniption fits when that happens

They will cry and curl up in the fetal position for days and days

  Oh no. A conniption fits.

Is this going to be like when you guaranteed that Rick Perry would be president.

They have already filed a enemy of the court brief in regards to the NY gun case going on front of the court. They basically said that if it rules against them which it more than likely will then if they get a solid.majority they want to increase the justices and stack the court.

No sign of further cancer. Routine blood tests and screening will continue. She's tough as nails that one. Remarkable lady.

I hope she stays healthy I really do. What's funny is during a tv interview she said that a GOP senator told her " He couldn't wait until she died so that they could fill her spot ". That senator is now dead and she is still alive

Oh, didn't mean to offend - not meaning you specifically or personally but in a generalized way of speaking. Perhaps I should have said ''some may not like what she decides'' My grandpa made a good living so he was able to retire but he could never not be busy and was out and about getting lost with his dementia every day, and you couldn't tell him to take a break. Some just don't have the money to retire. Some, like my uncle are pretty ridiculously wealthy, well beyond retirement age and are still working. It gives him a sense of purpose. When one job pushed him out of being CEO to retirement, he's back up and working two different jobs just to keep busy. He doesn't need to of course.

Of course not offensive, you rarely are.  I more was pointing out my.ignorance of her rulings.  Or of ANYTHING except she seems fairly... aged.

Once you've given most of your life over to labor, I'm afraid (for myself) that letting go of that habit will be hard.

Packing the court amuses me, once that happens then everyone does it, and you end up with a mega court.

I don't see him calling for more justices though do you? The only people I see calling for that is the Left because they are still sore about Kavanaugh and Gorsuch.

Most pancreatic cancers have a poor prognosis because the pancreas does not have pain receptors. By the time symptoms develop, the cancer is typically advanced.

In her case, I would not be surprised if it was incidentally detected in surveillance scans as part of recurrence monitoring from her previous cancer. The prognosis for early detected pancreatic cancer, seen from surveillance scan, is not the same as the ones first detected by symptoms.

Unless we have more information, it is difficult to estimate a prognosis.

I had a good friend of mine who died almost a week after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was getting ready to retire and was having stomach pain and let it go for far to long. Finally he went to ER about it and came back with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and died 5 days later.

He was due to retire 4 weeks from his death. He was a really good guy and a mentor to a young me at the USGS.
