I just think it's extremely tacky and ghoulish to wish for the death of anyone. For political reasons, it seems even more tasteless. I don't like Trump or Mitch McConnell and I wish they would go away, but I'd never wish that they would die. Life has a funny way of visiting upon you the negative energy you put out into the world.

Who wished her dead?  On the other hand Bill Maher rejoiced in Kochs death . If a conservative had done that, that had his own HBO show he would have been shut down.

Of course no conservative is going to have an HBO show

It doesn't matter what part of the ideological spectrum a person is on. It is tacky to wish for or celebrate a person's death. It's gross when Bill Mahr and left wing randos on the internet do it too, to be clear.

And yes, if you're thinking about filling Supreme Court seats when the topic is literally about RBG recovering from cancer, and thinking about how to pwn the libs by choosing someone to fill any vacancy her illness or death may bring, yeah. That's wishing for someone's death, or at the very least extreme ill health. I'm not saying you're doing it, Nature Boy 2.0, but others here seem to be implying just that. It's tacky.

No one here has wished for her death......I want her replaced as soon as possible....after she retires.  She will possibly leave the court soon...hopefully by retirement....That is hardly wishing for her death.......but I am hoping she retires.....along with a few others on the court.

Layla said other's "here". As far as I know Bill Maher isn't posting here currently. If he was, TBone would have been on him like a monkey on a banana. As far as people here, search the previous post on RBG for the poster who said he will be happy when she is dead and see who gave it a plus one.

Previous post?  Are we talking ancient history?  Cuz I just went back thru this thread and no one mentioned wanting her dead.

I know nothing about her other than what I have learned *here*.  And from that, I think she should have retired several years ago.  Diminished mental capacity aside, why wouldn't she want to relax and enjoy her last days on earth?  I plan to stop working between 62-65, personally.  Don't wish to work until I expire.

I have noted before there is certain glee among some at the mention of her previous health scare threads, and I recall actually chiding someone that I found it offensive considering my own mom is a cancer survivor.

People may not like her rulings just as they may not like any of the justice's rulings, but personally she is and always has been a remarkable, shrewd, and tough lady - tougher than most at her age. Again you may not like what she decides but she's always been a solid judge and is always clear as in why she has ruled the way she has. As I've explained before it is not a requirement for a SCOTUS judge to retire. They can keep going as long as they feel like it. There were previous cases of justices that were going bonkers, doing drugs, and all sorts of things.. in history. I think for her, she feels it is her purpose, and I don't think personality-wise she is a person that would thrive retired. I know people that are old that will never stop working - it's just not in their nature. She doesn't want to, she doesn't have to.. you know?

Don't say "You may not like what she decides" in reference to me, because as i said above, I know nothing about her.  Only what I have read here.

And I get that some people need their work to remain alive, but I think that is just sad, and hope I don't end up like that (though I DO worry about it, as I have been doing it regularly since I was 13).  Know of several people who worked until forced to retire, then died within a few months.  That sucks.

Oh, didn't mean to offend - not meaning you specifically or personally but in a generalized way of speaking. Perhaps I should have said ''some may not like what she decides'' My grandpa made a good living so he was able to retire but he could never not be busy and was out and about getting lost with his dementia every day, and you couldn't tell him to take a break. Some just don't have the money to retire. Some, like my uncle are pretty ridiculously wealthy, well beyond retirement age and are still working. It gives him a sense of purpose. When one job pushed him out of being CEO to retirement, he's back up and working two different jobs just to keep busy. He doesn't need to of course.

Wishing for someones death and recognizing that it is near are two different things and I made that very clear. Using that kind of twisted logic my Mother wished for own death by planning her funeral when she knew the end was near

Not looking good for Ginsberg. I only wish her the best and  fully support her right to stay on the court as long as possible.

How was that wishing for her death.

To be fair we all die, and everyone's death is near. It can happen at any time and place and age. My dad almost died three times in the span of one month this year alone. To be fair he did not have good odds, he pretty much thought it was near. Boy was he wrong! Thanks doctors and modern medicine!

And I'm not saying that she's old and the possibility of her dying sometime in the future isn't a reality, but don't count the old gal out just yet eh?
