We moved on Aug 9th, I already requested an address change (online for the i-485) on Aug 6th.
My case status changed to "Interview was scheduled" on August 14th
I called USCIS regarding to which address they would send the notice.. they said they haven't updated the address yet and it was sent to the old address..(they told me that over the phone AND even sent me an e-mail stating the same again)
I haven't received anything yet. I am wondering if it will even get there. Our old mailbox says "vacant" and I read that the mailman won't deliver mail there because of it.
I was on the line with USCIS today and a lady tried to transfer me to a higher level officer .. the wait is 12 hrs (!!)

I also thought about submitting an e-request because the likelihood of me somehow receiving that letter seems very low.

Any ideas what I could do additionally?

Many folks have problems with mail delivery of their important immigration paperwork.  As a matter of fact the immigrant is required to promptly notify USCIS of any change of address (COA). Many people fail. to realize that there are two huge government bureaucracies involved in keeping track of COAs, USCIS and USPS. USCIS is the sender of the mail, and USPS is the deliverer of the mail. If you only notify one and not the other, you have only completed half of your task. When USCIS sends out an official letter often on the outside of the envelope is printed, "If undeliverable as addressed, DO NOT FORWARD," or some similar type verbiage. The net effect being, if you haven't filed a proper COA with USPS, and they are required to follow the directive on the envelope, and then the troubles begin. I understand that USCIS is going to be going to a tracking type of mail delivery system. Who knows when it will come to pass... In the meantime follow the advice given in the recent USCIS link about COAs, and maybe save yourself some grief:

Change of Address Information

We strongly encourage you to update your address with USCIS to ensure you receive all correspondence and benefits from us in a timely manner and avoid possible delays related to your case.

Changing your address with the U.S. Postal Service will not change your address with USCIS. Please update your information with both USCIS and USPS.

Thanks for your response.. However, I do not understand what you mean.
I said in my initial post that I properly updated my address with USCIS three days before we actually moved.. However, they did not update it immediately.. I followed up with them as soon as I saw the case status changed. They told me that they received my request on Aug 6th but failed to update it already. It is now updated but the interview notice was sent to the old address..
I also filled out a form and got the official confirmation from USPS that they will forward my mail from one address to the other..
However, government mail with the "do not forward" is not going to be forwarded anyways (besides in rare case where they do not follow their own policy)

I see what you are saying. It sounds like you did all that you could and USCIS dropped the ball and they still sent the materials to the old address.:ranting: I know that I sure can't defend, nor want to defend those USCIS bureaucrats. That is good that you also did a COA with USPS. That is where many folks are missing out and causing themselves problems. Hence the quote from USCIS link about COAs for USCIS and USPS. I am cautiously optimistic that their proposed mail tracking system will be an improvement over the current dog and pony show. At least if they give the customer the tracking number, it may help with delivery and cut down on screw-ups.

Hang in there, it sounds like you are getting close to AOS interview and approval.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
