Everyone says different things because everyone has different experiences because everyone ends up with different CBP officers. So no matter what our experiences were, your may be very different.

And no, CBP officers don't ask for additional documents.

Right.

Anyway.. i read somewhere that having a visa does allow you to get into the US, but they decide at the airport if they‘ll let u stay.. it could also happen that they say no and we‘d have to go back home even tho we have immigration visas

I have not seen anyone with a spousal visa turned away when entering the US to immigrate.....don't worry about that.....enjoy your flight.

I went through Las Vegas for my POE and we were all herded together in a small very hot room with not enough seats. I spent 2.5 hours in secondary. They went through the paperwork and asked me for the petitioner’s phone number and to confirm where I would be living. My envelope was taken into a back room for about an hour. Then I got my stamp and was sent on my way. No welcome.

Secondary is a holding room, while they process paperwork. Depending on the day and the airport you could be in for a long or a small wait. They may ask a few questions or they may not. IIRC they did not ask my husband a thing, they barely shuffled through his paperwork, and welcomed him to America.

You have little to be concerned about.

TBH it was the fastest I had ever seen my husband come through the doors at the airport. I only waited about 15 minutes.. so they weren't very busy that day. But airports will vary.

Exactly! Airports will vary... I came through Las Vegas 6 days before Christmas. The whole world was traveling somewhere, it seemed. I was sent to secondary and was told as I was being sent there “I would normally do this at the desk but I’m under instruction to keep this line moving”. It was purely a crowd control measure that I was sent to secondary.

The same thing happened to me. I was basically first in the line. I was sent to secondary for 1,5h so they could send through everyone else. They then called my name, gave me my passport and that was it.

As you can see by your responses, everyone is different and each POE is different, so who knows.  One thing in common is that it is nothing to worry about.

My wife came through LAX, and I was with her.  She handed over the package, and the guy asked me a couple of questions about our plans and where we going.  He asked her nothing, and we were done in less than 15 minutes.

Finally done.

Even citizens have to show proper paperwork before being admitted.  If you have an immigrant visa, unless you’re carrying drugs or guns, it’s almost unheard of.
