We are currently waiting for an interview date from Frankfurt. A quick question to those who have interviewed there.

Is the interview is done in English or in German?

Hi there. I had my interview in Frankfurt this last February. You hand your papers in to people who speak German, the consul himself will ask you a couple of questions in English. It only takes a few minutes though. Don't worry, it's easy!

Hi there. I had my interview in Frankfurt this last February. You hand your papers in to people who speak German, the consul himself will ask you a couple of questions in English. It only takes a few minutes though. Don't worry, it's easy!

Thanks again to all.

My fiance sent the Packet 3 in on Thursday 05/25 (almost 2 weeks ago) so we expect to get the interview date any day now.

I am flying in to Hamburg 2 weeks from this Friday so I would imagine that I will be there with her for the interview so that should releive some of her fears. Anyway, her English is nearly perfect.

A side note, she is a teacher and has to go on a week long class trip in the end of August and she cannot miss it so I hope we don't have to deal with trying to reschedule.

I had my interview done on Feb 2, 2007. The lady in window 17 who checked all of my documents, spoke german to me. The man who interviewd me was American and he spoke English to me. It was very fast! The interview lasted only about 2 minutes.

Really, there is no need at all to stress about the interview in Frankfurt. You will just walk up to a couple of counters, hand in your papers and then answer the few questions the consul will ask you. It takes the longest to walk through security and wait for your number to be called up, the rest is easy. People are very friendly!

Usually they schedule interviews about 5-6 weeks after they received package 3, so I keep my fingers crossed for you that you can accompany your fiance and that she will not have to reschedule the appointment.
