We used receipts. Bus tickets for me, he drove and used gas receipts. Also any shopping receipts from both places.

I used to get a ride to St Ignace MI to take the Greyhound to AR (no way was I adding another 7 hours to take the Greyhound from Canada). I never had a stamp and neither did my now husband. Just receipts of us at both places.

Did you check the I-94 site for your entry records? It should have every entry. You can print that and use it as proof.

I requested I-94 on their website, it was immediately available to print off... not sure why you think it takes weeks to get

American citizens don't get I-94's.  They actually have to request their history of entries/exits.

That being said Canada is a very low fraud country, and receipts of flights to Detroit coupled with an explanation and hotel receipts is probably going to satisfy USCIS and the consulate.  You can always choose to file as-is, and if you get an RFE you'll have your border crossing record in hand when that happens.

You can go to the Customs and Border Protection ("CBP") website for Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA") requests and make an online request for all records of you entries to the USA and exits from the USA.

They will email you a list showing, at a minimum, the dates of your entries and where you entered (Canadian border) which will prove you were in Canada on those dates.

In my experience it takes about nine months for them to respond. I wouldn't wait for this before filing the petition, but it might be a good  piece of evidence to submit with your evidence of relationship at the interview.

You’re not the first in this situation.  I would include the Detroit tickets along with any evidence of money spent in Canada on bank or credit card statements that coincide with the those dates.  I think that they are coherent enough to understand that as long as you’re supplementing it with pictures and proof you went on to Canada.  I didn’t find them to be so hard-headed.

I think it’s not as difficult as you are fearing.

I'm just wondering why an agent would get mad and search you for asking for a stamp? What's suspicious about that lol, sounds like its just making their job harder and they want to take it out on you.
