Ok so here is the deal.  My wife became a US citizen this past November. Yay!  Now we are wanting to apply to bring her mother here also.  This should be easy but unfortunately it is not.  So on my wifes birth certificate.  Her mothers name is spelled wrong on her birth certificate.  It's one letter that was is wrong.  We have contacted the Philippines to try to correct this.  We have an affidavit from a lawyer in the Philippines showing the correction.  We do not have a replacement birth certificate.  Will applying to bring her here with a copy of the birth certificate and the affidativ together work?  Anyone have any idea or know someone i could talk to about this or will i need to hire an immigration lawyer to look into this.  My wife and I did all this on our own when we brought her here and were able to do everything with no lawyers due to a lot of help from people here.  Thanks for that by the way.  We have a happy little family now.  Two children and a 3rd due in late february.
