Hi,

I entered US in May 2019 on K1 visa and have already applied for AOS after getting married. My I-94 expired in early August.

When I went to DMV for a driving permit and submitted all the required documents including the NOA for submitting my AOS, they said that they cannot issue a driving permit to me as my I-94 is expired and the SAVE system doesn't verify my status. They raised a request to SAVE and gave me a verification code to check online.

I received a mail that my current status in SAVE is "Not Verified" and I cannot be issued a DL, ID, or Permit.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

Will the current status be changed to "Verified" and if yes then how long does it take?

In Colorado you will need your EAD before you can apply for a license unlesa you plan on getting the non-resident one.  Which im not sure if you can even do.

You I-94 is expired and you do not yet have a green card or EAD. You are out of status but have an authorized stay due to the pending I-485.

SAVE (correctly) cannot verify you based on the above conditions. CO uses SAVE for regular driver licenses and state ID issuance for non-citizens.

Edit: You need an EAD or green card for the regular license or permit. You may qualify for the license for undocumented and limited term aliens: https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/dmv/co-rcsa-sb251-driver-licenses-and-ids
