Study the guides on this site in detail. Marrying and filing for a CR1 might be a better option for both of you instead of the K1. She'll have time after filing to move to the US, establish domicile, get a job and build up proof of income. If she falls short, she can hopefully enlist a US friend or relative to co-sponsor. Good luck.

Hello everyone,

I'm from Europe, my fiancee is from US and we want to live together so she wants to start the application process.

  1. But what do we do about sponsorship and that affidavit of support? Neither of us are employed, we just finished college and want to start the life & work together in US.
  2. My uncle is able to sponsor me but both me and my uncle are from Europe, not US. Is there any way I can apply for K1 visa without having USA-based sponsor and how much salary does my uncle need to have since all poverty guidelines I found are directed towards US citizens.
  3. Also, since we're both unemployed do we need double sponsor or something?

Thank you in advance! Appreciate it!

What's about her family? Anyone who can support you?

The sponsor is necessary for the beneficiary, in this case, you.

yeah that's not a problem really, I have savings with which I can live until I get Authorization for work, so I'm very well aware that I might need to wait some time before getting there and before working. I'm just disappointed about sponsor stuff, because my family has money but if US sponsor is required then it doesn't really mean much :(((

Not sure why your disappointed about sponsor stuff... after all you’ll be living with your petitioner and most likely need to be supported by them... 6-9 mths waiting for switch from K1 might seem like a short time, but feels like forever when counting it down...

Where is it you plan on residing? And how do you both plan of paying simple things like accomodation utilities if your both unemployed for such a long time? I assume y’all expect your sponsor to pay for this lifestyle?

id recommend she get a job, file taxes in 2020 and then make application..

There’s no mention of her not having domicile... all he says is she’s unemployed.. either way sponsor will still be a problem, getting married will not fix that problem
