Timeline

Hello,

September 2019 Filer here. Below is my timeline:

  • 09/27/19 -- I-751 window opened
  • 09/30/19 -- Filed I-751 via USPS
  • 10/07/19 -- Check Cashed, Text Notice, received I797 Physical NOA (WAC Case Number)
  • 06/14/20 -- Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken
  • 06/17/20 -- I797-C Physical NOA
  • 09/27/20 -- N-400 window opened
  • 09/28/20 -- Filed for N-400 (3-year rule) online via https://my.uscis.gov/
  • 09/28/20 -- Electronic Receipt Notice (IOE Case Number)
  • 10/01/20 -- Case Transfer to & Received at my Local Office

So yes, this morning I woke up to an email from no-reply@uscis.dhs.gov with an update stating that:

"Case Transferred And New Office Has Jurisdiction"

On October 01, 2020, your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WAC2090002XXX, was transferred to another USCIS office.

That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

If you do not receive your notice by October 31, 2020, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice.

If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

and then another email saying:

"Case Was Received At My Local Office"

On October 01, 2020, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WAC2090002XXX, at your local office.

If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

QUESTION:

1. What do I make of this? Bad sign? Good sign?

2. Anyone on the same boat? What should I expect?

3. Is this normal?

4. What should I prepare / do now?

5. I'm in Los Angeles, so I imagine now the Downtown Los Angeles office is the one overseeing my case, correct?

Please advise, anything would be great!!! Thank you!

As always, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Good luck to all!

Best,

J/G

Our case was also transferred on the 30th from LIN, unknown where it was transferred too as we only got an email confirming it was transferred and case status (by email only) said (Case Status: Initial review).

This could mean a transfer to the local CIS office or could mean transfer to another Service Center as a workload transfer.

Did you get anything actually saying it was transferred to a local Field Office?

Either way there is nothing to do or prepare for at this time, if it went to another service center they are just doing normal workload shuffle and if it went to local office that means a in person interview is potentially expected in the future.

Hello,

I got two more emails this morning (10/3/20). One stated that my I751 (WAC) is again being transferred to another office. So it's now in the other 'other' office, it didn't specify which other 'other' office has my case.

The other email stated that my I751 (WAC) is currently undergoing an "Initial Review". So you and I are in the same boat, I assume?

I'll hope it'll be smooth sailing (pun intended) for both of us!

Take care, stay healthy.

Best,

J/G

Timeline

We filed last September and as of April 2020, our case is listed as “case is ready to be scheduled for an interview”.

Not sure if being scheduled for interview vs. no interview is a bad thing, but either way we sent in a lot of documents and are ready for the interview.

Any guesses on how much longer we all have to wait without hearing any updates? My Hubby’s extension letter will expire March 2021 I believe. I hope it won’t take that long to hear back from the USCIS.

Sending everyone waiting much needed patience and hoping y’all receive some good news soon.  🙏🏽

Yay, LIN is on a roll - my case went straight to Card being produced this morning, took exactly one year and one week from receipt. And no, not filing for naturalization just yet. If we get four more years of this sh*t show we might just take our tax dollars elsewhere...

Love this!!! I can't apply for citizenship since I recently divorced. This country is in dire need to a BIG change because waiting over 19 years just to finally become a legal permanent resident/10 year card holder is ridiculous!

I would love to go see Sweden ❤️

Haha, everything is relative, I lived 12 years in Japan without any sort of permanent status. After 10 years I could have applied for permanent residency there, but it's an equally complex process involving having a Japanese guarantor and plenty of paperwork. Citizenship was never an option there since Japan does not allow dual citizenship. By comparison, the US has been fairly simple... :)

Hello,

Just received my NOA today (01/8/2020) regarding the transference of my I-175 (WAC Case No.). The letter explained that they completed the preliminary review of my case and it was transferred to the National Benefits Center in Missouri as a part of standard processing.

This NOA letter dated 10/01/2020 (exactly 1 year from my I-751 date of receipt date, 10/01/2019) does not have any further instruction. It simply stated that the National Benefit Center office will notify me in writing when they make any decision or need more information from me.

I'll take that this is a good sign?? But then again, any news is a good news at this point for me. Thoughts?

I hope everyone is well, safe, and healthy.

My best,

J/G

Are you fully sure because my AOS was at NBC and interview was waived with case approved.

Does anyone have any proof that all i751 cases that go to NBC/MO will end up requiring an interview?

I haven't heard of anyone who got the interview waived for both AOS and ROC. Plenty of folks have been skipping the ROC interview, but as far as I know only ones who already did an AOS interview - I could certainly be wrong on that though...

Because they skipped your AOS interview so that's why they need interview on ROC.
