Did you ever have any interview in US before?

That's the reason they set you an interview.

I mean - I had an interview in the UK when we were first applying for my green card - if that's what you are referring to. But there has been no other opportunity in this process for interviews.  I thought they would only need another interview now if we didn't have enough evidence within these 2+ years that our marriage is still successful? Just annoying as it seems like for most other centers they just send out the green card but everyone with the MSC center has to be interviewed?

It does not matter how many evidence that you have. They required at least one interview in USA. With MSC case, that's meaning you will have interview

I've heard this about interviews, too.  If you have an interview for AOS, you might get it waived for ROC.  If your interview was waived for AOS, expect to be interviewed for ROC.  Don't think it has anything to do with the specific service center (as in, I don't think it's possible to get both interviews waived at some service centers but not others) but not sure.

If you don't have to go through AOS I think you'll need to do an ROC interview regardless.

You’re right:

From USCIS website: https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-revises-interview-waiver-guidance-for-form-i-751

Generally, USCIS officers must interview a conditional permanent resident who is the principal petitioner on a Form I-751, unless the interview is waived. This guidance explains that officers may consider waiving an interview if they are satisfied that:

  • For Form I-751 cases received on or after December 10, 2018, USCIS has previously interviewed the principal petitioner;
  • There is no indication of fraud or misrepresentation in the Form I-751 or the supporting documentation; and
  • There are no complex facts or issues that require an interview to resolve.

9/30/19: Check was cashed

10/3/19: Received NOA1 by mail with 18 months extension

10/11/19: Biometrics appointment notice

10/21/19: Date when I received my appointment letter

6/25/20: email from  USCIS saying that card is being produced

6/26/20: email from USCIS saying that case was approved

7/15/20: email from USCIS saying that card was ready to be picked up by USPS

7/16/20: email from USCIS saying that card was taken by USPS

7/17/20: I received the 10 year green card!!!!🙌😎

N-400 Timeline/ Online

9/22/20: Window opens and I sent my application online

10/1/20: Got my NOA from USCIS via mail (in which it is said that the notice date, received date, and priority date are 9/22 (the same day I submitted the application)).

5/15/21: Biometric  appointment scheduled

6/11/21: Biometrics completed

7/14/21: Interview scheduled for 8/9/2021 (however, I have moved, and even tough I had told USCIS that I moved in June 19, I still got an interview from my old address). I cancelled the interview and requested a new date.

9/8/21: New interview scheduled for 10/28/21

10/28/21: Interview day! Interviewer was super nice, not much of wait. I brought some documents, He told me that I did the favor of submitting more than enough documents online and he did not have to see any more documents and that he would recommend my case to be approved. (Also, he laughed a lot after seeing a picture of my husband and I with Rosie O'Donnell)

10/29/21: I checked on my USCIS that my oath ceremony was schedule for 11/10/21. It was really quick, actually the letter only arrived around 11/5, but they upload myUSCIS much quicker than USPS delivers the mail.

11/10/21: I became an american citizen and my journey here is over. Thank you everyone for the advice and good luck!

I am also a LIN filer and the status hasn’t changed since Case was received. I was reading somewhere here in the Forum that the Naturalization Filing Fee will increase to over 1000 by October. So we are planning on filing before to avoid the Increase.
See here

Very good plan. We already have our online draft saved and ready to submit as soon as she's eligible (90 day early filing!). A nice feature of online filing is that your entries are saved for up to 30 days in draft. So you can work on the N-400 over time and don't have to rush through it in one sitting!

Filed Sept 29, 2019. Divorce waiver.

My case got updated today, case " was transferred to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice."

Anyone know what this means? Does it usually say "case transferred to local office" when called in for an interview?

It could mean that or it could simply mean the local office is handling the case and it may end up being approved without an interview. See the below excerpt from USCIS's "Workload Transfer Updates" page:

We transferred some of the following cases from the Texas Service Center to various USCIS Field Offices:

  • Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence

Hi there,

We got the lucky (or unlucky?) news on 7/20 that our I-751 filed with EAC got approved. Yay - so far.
As I read through the approval letter, it is stated that I shouldn’t travel outside the US as long as I‘m not in possession of the new card. Bummer - since my wife and I have a vacay to Cancun, Mexico planned for 8/22 as we didn’t anticipate to get the approval at such an „early“ stage.

Could anyone with approval potentially share the timeline with me how long it took to receive the physical  GC after approval? Thanks - any guidance much appreciated!

Good luck for anybody still waiting!

That seems odd. If your 12/18-month extension letter is still valid, you should be able to travel legally, especially to Mexico! I'm not a lawyer, but the verbiage in that letter about not traveling feels off to me.

As others have mentioned, if you haven't been interviewed in the US already, you may need to go through the motions. Also, you may just be randomly selected for one. It sucks, especially when your evidence is robust (as you mentioned).

Ah well - thanks for the info guys! I’ll keep you updated for when I receive my official interview date and make sure to share any questions asked / advice etc.

I just looked at some of the things that people have been asked like where certain light switches are in the house and what items are in different cupboards and what shampoos your husband / wife uses etc! Pretty interesting!! So we will just keep our chins up and have fun with it I guess!! Haha
