Can the EAD arrive later than the green card?

Hi VJ members,

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I have a question about the green card and the EAD. I entered the US with an H1B (expired a week ago) and I applied to the green card through marriage to a USC this April. My interview for I-485 is scheduled for next week, but I haven't received my EAD (I-765 submitted 110 days ago with all the green card package). Is there a possibility that I go to the interview and my green card gets approved, but I still do not receive the EAD? If so, can I work with the green card or I need the EAD

Thanks!

Green card is the ultimate EAD

YMMV

Yeah; you don't need EAD once you get a green card. I've seen a non-trivial number of cases here where their EAD was approved around when their green card interview was scheduled, but I think it would take a postal service delay of some sort with the EAD for you to get it after your green card; if the green card is approved (or denied) before the EAD is sent, they'll cancel the EAD application.
