tax transcript

I ordered my tax transcripts for the last 3 years but the man I spoke with at the IRS said that I may not get the 2006 transcript because they have about 50 million to enter into the system and it takes a while. If its in the system, I will get it in about 2 weeks. My wifes co-sponsor will have to do the same thing.

If either of us do not receive the transcript, what should we do? would a xerox copy of the return suffice?

I would think so, as that is what I submitted with my husband's AOS. Tax transcripts were sent later after we received an RFE...the same RFE that a bunch of us were getting for the same thing.

That's all we sent for our AOS. We sent a long a cover letter explaining that it was to be submitted etc. Worked for us!

Awwww man, that explains why I haven't received mine yet. Anyway, so now I will go to plan B which is to send copies of the actual tax returns and W-2 forms.

We mailed the AOS package before I received tax transcripts. I sent a copy of the return, the IRS confirmation page, and my W-2s. No RFE (as of yet...)

Copy of 1040/W2/and any 1099s constitutes a "Return" also don't forget to make sure the 1040 is signed.

I believe you could send photocopy of 2006 Federal Returns and 2006 W-2 forms in lieu of IRS transcripts. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Because my husband had just filed his taxes at the time of sending in the AOS application I had sent in his W-2 and the printed efile forms. I had ordered the tax tanscripts about 2 weeks after his refund was in the account. No problem with getting them. But, in the end no RFE and no need to show the transcript at the interview... Thank you lucky socks.

Are efile tax returns sufficient evidence to send w/ an I-864, along w/ w-2's? I just requested those tax transcripts for the past three years, but i'm afraid of waiting too long before they even arrive. Any suggestions?
