"your case is currently under review" question

My petition is currently outside normal processing time at Potomac service center. I submitted an e-request and received the generic response “ your case is currently under review by an officer. You should receive a decision, correspondence, or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter.” 

I passed the 60 days midpoint and still no response. Does it usually take the whole 60 days period and\or is there a chance they don't not provide a response? Any suggestion on what to do next? When can\should I contact my congressman to see if they can help me getting status update? - Thanks so much

I can take 60 days or even past 60 days. Or it could be tomorrow. There won't be another response unless you submit another inquiry, and then it'll tell you to wait another 60 days. That's how it goes...

At the end of this 60 days, that'll be a good time to contact your local congresspeople.

60 days is just an average. Not a guarantee. Nobody knows how long it will take but it is not unheard of for AP to last months and even years.
