My fiancé wants to accompany me to the interview in London however I’ve noticed some embassy’s don’t allow it - does anyone know if you are welcome to bring your fiancé to the London embassy? Has anyone done it?!

Thanks!

Yes. My fiancé came with me. You need to register him. He will need his US passport for ID.

On the embassy website FAQs

Please provide the date of the appointment and the name of your U.S. citizen spouse or fiance(e) and arrangements will be made for them to be admitted to the Embassy.  They will be required to bring with them photo-id for presentation to Embassy personnel.  Children not applying for visas may accompany you also. If 12 or over, we will require their name and they will require photo-id. Please provide the required information through our contact form.

When completing the form,  please include your case number (e.g. LND2013XXXXXX). Failure to do so will delay our response.

Ooooh, that’s interesting! I was of the understanding that fiancés weren’t allowed to accompany you at London...

@Meg101, I feel like we were discussing this a while back and I told you I didn’t think so - well it appears you can 👍🏻👍🏻

Reading all the FAQs, many pages of them on the embassy website, will teach you new things. 😁

I filled out the form to notify about an accompaniment 2-3 weeks ago, I assume if there is no response (checked junk mail) that I should fill it out again?

Let's see how long this DCF CR-1 takes! 😀

For reference the document collector guy asked me if my wife was here with me during that phase of the Interview. I didn't fill out any form or bring my wife.

Huh ok that's easy. Just in case somehow they aren't seeing my request, that gives me a little peace of mind in case the guy is lax for us too :)

I haven’t actually done the request yet -

but I will do it - still at NVC stage - my fiancé definitely wants to come with me to the interview (I get extremely anxious so I’d feel so much better not being alone also)

I don't think they confirm. The name will be added to the list outside so your fiancé will be allowed in the door. My fiancé (and others I know of just talked their way in).  I don't think they had a permission request when we went through. She handed the guy doing the line her passport and said, "I'm an American and wish to go in this American embassy for my fiance's visa interview."  Ok

Regarding the other comment that said the document person asked if the wife was present. At that point, it's a bit late. You will have already been through the outside line person, security booth, reception desk checker, up the elevator and waited to be called to the first window to turn in documents.
