Customs/landing card on arrival

Only 3 weeks till I get my flight to move!

Quick question about point of entry.

When you usually go over to America as I'm sure you're all aware, you have to fill out one of those landing card things with details of anything over a certain amount of money and quantity.
Since I'm taking about  4 suitcases with me with my belongings in, do I need to fill out that card with all the items on? Or since I'm going to be staying in the country indefinitely/forever, do I even need to fill one out?

I called and spoke to the head of CBP at my POE airport. He said write "household goods" with no valuation. If you have any new things like we did (tea bags, cheese, candy, gifts) then itemize those with a value.
