A week and a half ago I ordered Flowers using a Store online. My grandmother was turning 80 and I wanted to do something NICE for her special day. I ordered online, got my confirmation blah blah blah and phoned her to tell her they would be delivered the next day. Monday afternoon comes and no flowers for my very disappointed grandmother. I call the 1-800 number and ask.. what happened and they tell me no one in "customer service" is available in the evenings but someone should call me back the next day (or so - emphasis on the so).

This kid calls me back and asks what I want done with the failed delivery. I said "I want to know why the flowers were not delivered", and he said " I dunno.. I didn't actually talk to the florist". Then I said, "well it's my Grandmother's 80th birthday it was VERY important that they be delivered". He replied with "Well every time someone orders flowers it's important"! ( I know what you are thinking I should have gotten my money back and cut my losses).. BUT I gave them a 2nd chance.. He said he would "take care of it" and have a bigger arrangement (for no extra charge) delivered. TWO days later my Grandmother calls and says that no flowers have come STILL! Unbelievable that a company could colossally screw up 2 x's and not even seemingly care.. UGH!! No apology phone call either..

Anyone else got a doozy?

Best bet is doing a Teleflora order. Go to or call a Florist in your area, ask if they have Teleflora or something similar. They will take the order and your payment. Then they call a Florist wherever your Grandma lives and relay the order to them. I did lots of wire out orders and we almost never had any problems.

I just stopped working in a Flower shop :)

Customer Service, Ever Wonder Where It Went?

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I work in customer service (for the moment) and i try always to put myself in the customers situation. I mean, i dont work in the sales or marketing so if something is ordered or bought, i dont have anything to do with it not arriving. The only time i get mad is when customers plain out think they are better than the customer service rep. I mean after all, remember, we are here to help you, and your calling to ask for our help. A little respect to the cust service rep does not hurt. Afterall, if we were not here at work, you would be up ###### creek with no paddle.

this is not referred to the OP, it was just in general, i mean i dont even like calling customer service when i have to ;) but im one of those rare nice reps :D

And when you called the most he could have done was make darn sure those flowers went to your grandma and tracked the acct for you to make sure they did, and if they didnt then give you a call and offer your money back. geez, see ifs arseholes like that that give the good ones (me me me) a bad name in customer service. :( sorry your experience was so bad.

and afterall his cs job is EASY. i get yelled at all day for shutting ppls gas off when they dont pay their bills.

I use fleurop whenever I send flowers to my mom overseas. They never failed me once. Ever. When I placed this year's mother's day order for the wrong weekend - I ordered the delivery a week early - I called them up and asked them to change it to Mother's Day. No problems and no worries. Order was changed that instant - e-mail confirmation included - and the arrangement arrived on time for Mother's Day.

So, where did customer service go? In the flower delivery business, apparently to Berlin, Germany. :D

When I was still in Canada I used flowers.com for a Christmas arrangement for the in-laws and they were never delivered. When I finally got my money back on my credit card, I ended up LOSING money due to the variance in the exchange rate. I was ROYALLY pi$$ed.

That's my don't-ever-use-flowers.com story. I'm not even going to MENTION my unrelated off-shore customer service story. Except to say that, after hours and hours (over an extended period) of speaking to service reps and supervisors, the absolute only time they finally did what they were supposed to was when we faxed all our supporting documentation and said our next step was to take legal action. :girlwerewolf2xn:
