Hello, I changed my address with the USCIS in July due to a recent move. They sent me an email confirming this, and said to expect a notice by August 1st. I assumed it meant that they would send me a piece of mail to my new address confirming the address change, I don’t know what else it would mean. I was approved on August 15th, and I’m worried that they didn’t get my address right since I didn’t receive any mail about the address change. What should I do?

That's just an automatic answer everybody gets. I never heard back from them but everything worked out.

You could call them to ask about if they have the right adress in their system

Okay, that’s reassuring. I was afraid that it was typical to receive a mailed notice after your change of address. Thank you.

I changed addresses with USCIS numerous times, never anything in the mail later.  And never had issue with USCIS reaching us.

One thing that seems to be coming up more and more is change of addresses (COA). Most folks seem to be pretty good about notifying USCIS (the sender of mail) about COAs, but tend to forget to notify the USPS (the mail delivery service) about the COA, and then wonders why later on when USCIS sends out a letter (very important, of course) with the instruction printed on the envelope of, DO NOT FORWARD, or if undeliverable as addressed, RETURN to SENDER. The USPS does what it has been directed, resulting in a non-delivery and returns to sender. Then the brouhaha starts.

The quote below is from a USCIS link, that if adhered to, may result in less issues with your important USCIS letters, and COAs:

We strongly encourage you to update your address with USCIS to ensure you receive all correspondence and benefits from us in a timely manner and avoid possible delays related to your case.

Changing your address with the U.S. Postal Service will not change your address with USCIS. Please update your information with both USCIS and USPS.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
