Manila embassy won't  be  sending anything via post.  Everything you need is online

If everything is online, how do we check the status of the visa if we haven't received the viss ID needed to track it?

Has the petitionner verified email address with NVC?  Google asknvc for online submission form.  Then everything will come via email

YMMV

Manila may be different, but in our case once Auckland received the approved petition, packet 3 was emailed to me (the USC petitioner), and then I forwarded it to my fiance/beneficiary.

How on earth would I have known to verify email address with the NVC when nothing has told me to do so? I emailed the NVC using the email address they gave me in the NOA2 on the 12th asking for an update on our case and still haven't heard anything. Should I still use that asknvc form if I have already emailed them using the email they gave me?

Two different ways to do it.  You don't need to double up.  You have done it already.   Once you get the case number start following the 5 steps on the Manila embassy website.   Don't wait for anything more than the email from NVC

I gave them our names and birthdates and put the USCIS receipt number just like they asked. I simply asked for an update since I haven't received anything yet. The NOA2 said to email them if either of us haven't received any correspondence from anyone yet.

NVC is taking about 6 weeks to forward to the embassy so it should be soon

It's been about 5 weeks so I'll wait awhile longer. It will be fine as long as the embassy will extend the approval status so it doesn't expire.

Manila does it automagically

This is why you need to get the NVC letter/email with your case file #  (MNL# in your case)

I gave you links to info to get this.

YOU email NVC!   They REPLY !  < that is how they get your email addy.

Read the info for NVC I gave you the link to for getting your MNL# .

If it has only been 5 weeks since getting your NOA2 Approval  it could be a little longer before NVC will reply to your email.

Sounds like the petitioner need to get on the phone and call and get the case number from NVC. I never got a letter or anything. I updated my email with them but only got a email when it was in transit to the embassy. Status can be checked on the CSEA site but you need your NVC case number to see if it is at NVC or in transit or even the embassy. If you wait for what the government says you may be waiting forever. Got to be proactive.

Good luck hopefully it will be finished soon
