Can we apply for AOS after our wedding, but without our SSN in hand? Will this cause an RFE or delays?

Originally, we were planning to wait for SSN before applying for AOS. Today at the SSA office, they said that immigration improperly sent my name to them, because they included my 2 middle names as my first name and part of it got cut off. The officer said that it will take 3 to 4 weeks to get my SSN, because they have to confirm my name with USCIS.

Thank you for any help :)

People do it all the time after asking this frequent question, and getting the same answer.

Yes, you can. We did it too.

In the AOS form you get the option to apply for SSN if u don't have one and if you want to get one.
