So there's several tweets mentioning that the L.A. and San Diego USCIS offices have been given information about reopening for in-person interviews in June.   Haven't seen anything 'official' on the USCIS site, though....    We are out of the Santa Ana office, so I hope they're included or not far behind.

 

Anyone heard this or anything different?

I was approved on Feb 20.  Just in line now for oath ceremony to be scheduled.   Yippee...

My time line says exactly the same, I had my interview for April 13, 2020 and was cancelled due to the pandemic, so I am hopping for my interview to be rescheduled soon.

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Hi everyone. Anyone from Washington DC field office in Fairfax  got a new interview date? Waiting for my interview to be rescheduled. I heard they restarted rescheduling interviews. My previous interview was April 6.

I was supposed to have my interview April 13 at Fairfax. No new interview yet as well but I moved to Florida. So, let's see if that will slow down my case. Do you mind keeping me/us posted when you receive your new interview date?

Can you please keep us posted whenever you receive your new interview appointment, mine was April 13, 2020, and still have not received a new appointment yet.

Actually no. I'm still waiting to hear about an interview since biometrics got done. Filed in December 2019, did biometrics in December too....silence since then.

Just a quick update for reference:

 

March 16, 2020 (Monday): My original interview date

March 14, 2020 (Saturday): USCIS Field Office called me to inform that appointments are cancelled.

 

One June 3rd, I used the USCIS messaging system to ask what steps I needed to do to re-schedule my  appointment. They replied within a day with the following message:

 

Quote

Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for interviews at their local Field Office. Interview appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the Field Office.

 

So for anyone who had their original appointment cancelled, contact USCIS just to be sure they put you on their list.

I just received an email scheduling my naturalization oath ceremony on June 23rd at the USCIS office in Boston. The original schedule was April 23 but did not happen because of COVID. No guests allowed except interpreters and disability assistance aide. 

N400 Timeline

  • 09/23/2019: Applied and paid online. Received a receipt number immediately.
  • 09/24/2019: USCIS online estimate is April 2020 
  • 09/28/2019: NOA1 received in my mailbox
  • 09/28/2019: Biometrics appointment scheduled [waiting for notice]
  • 10/04/2019: Biometrics appointment notice received in mailbox 
  • 10/17/2019: Biometrics appointment in Revere, MA completed
  • 10/17/2019: USCIS status changed to "we reviewed your biometrics"
  • 10/17/2019: USCIS online estimate is March 2020
  • 01/01/2020: Interview scheduled for Feb. 5, 2020
  • 02/05/2020: Interview expected in Boston
  • 02/04/2020: Received interview de-scheduled [ugh!]
  • 02/11/2020: Interview scheduled for March 10, 2020
  • 03/10/2020: Interview passed. N-400 Approved.
  • 03/11/2020: USCIS status online says naturalization ceremony scheduled for 04/23/2020 [cancelled  because of COVID-19]
  • 06/05/2020: USCIS status online says naturalization ceremony scheduled for 06/23/2020. 
  • 06/23/2020: Naturalization oath ceremony anticipated.

  • 03/31/2016: Email and text notification that I-765 'card being produced', then 'case was approved' (Day 71)
  • 03/31/2016: Email and text notification that I-131 'case was approved' (Day 71)
  • 04/04/2016: Text notification for I-765 that 'card was mailed' (Day 75)
  • 04/05/2016: Notice of Approval of EAD/AP received in the mail (Day 76)
  • 04/07/2016: EAD/AP card received (Day 77) 
  • 07/05/2016: Interview notice received for 08/09 in Boston USCIS (Day 166)
  • 08/09/2016: Interview. Approved on the spot (Day 201)
  • 08/11/2016: Online update that card was mailed (Day 203)
  • 08/15/2016: Approval notices of I-485 and I-130 received in the mail. Hours later, green card also received in the mail. (Day 207) 
  • 08/25/2016: Applied for new SSN card without DHS restrictions
