Good luck! And thank you! I still have a long wait but the best things come to those who wait (online status still shows December 2020 for estimated completion date).

It seems like everyone finished before the estimate. My estimated completion is May 2020 but still didn’t have the notice for interview yet. Anyone in similar situation? New York City filed online if it helps.

No one in Seattle has finished before the estimate in the last two years. There are people who filed in 2018 in Seattle still waiting for an interview.

Do you know if the date just gets changed after it passes? Sorry that the situation in Seattle is so horrible.

My husband had his oath ceremony in Atlanta, GA on Feb 19th. Everything went well. He registered to vote and applied for his US passport the same day.  They said it would take 6 - 8 weeks for the passport to arrive. Since they took his naturalization certificate and sent it into the DOS to make his passport, they gave him a photocopy and said that the original cert will be returned in the mail with his new passport. He is excited to vote in this upcoming presidential election.

Our visa journey, which started on 7/31/2013 with filling out an I-130 and applying for an IR-1 to bring him back to the US, to POE and receiving green card on 7/14/2014, to applying for naturalization on 9/1/2019 has finally come to an end! whew!

Thank you, Visa Journey for invaluable help, every step of the way. Thank you for saving us almost $5K in lawyer fees because we did everything on our own.

❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Congrats, that's awesome news! I also have my oath at ATL office next week (4th) and was wondering how long the ceremony is. I have an important meeting on the same day and was thinking if I need to reschedule my meeting or not.. how long was your ceremony and can I leave the venue as soon as I get the Naturalization cert based on your experience? Thanks!

I had my interview today and it was about 1 hour long. Interview was at 10:45 and I arrived 15 minutes before the interview and got checked in. My interview did not start until about 11:00. I had 2 different officers and they were both very nice and friendly. One officer was for the test and i answered all 6 questions, passed the speaking and writing part as well. Below is the list of questions I was asked.

  1. What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution?

  2. What did the Declaration of Independence do?

  3. What are two rights in the Declaration of Independence?

  4. What is the highest court in the United States?

  5. What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States?

  6. Where is the Statue of Liberty?*

I was asked to say "Where is the White House?"

I was asked to write "The White House is in Washington D.C.

Then the officer told me I passed the civic portion of the interview and to have a seat in the waiting room and to wait for another officer to call me for the interview. I waited for about 25-30 minutes before i was called in. I was sworn in by the second officer and he then proceeded to ask me questions from my application, example; full name, date of birth, SSN, address. After that he asked me the "NO" questions and the "YES" questions. Finally he asked me to verify my information for my certificate and said I passed the interview.

What a journey! Good luck everyone!

How long until they send the Oath ceremony date? I will be out of town and was wondering if I will receive something before I leave so I can reschedule.

Thank you!

Hi @Leo Marti. Mine jumped from April to May 2020 as well yesterday. But I received a notification this morning that my interview has been scheduled. I think it is a good sign that they are scheduling interview for all September filers maybe that's why we see the jump. My estimated completion is still May 2020 even though I got the interview notice this morning. You will hear something soon.
