Hello, we are trying to prepare for the P-4, and the GIV-24 is giving us a few problems. I hope you can help us understand the quesstions, so we can give the correct answers, thanks.

#5. PETITIONER are they asking who is filing the DS-230, or who petioned for the applicant?

#7. Does my wife list me as the spouse? along with the rest of my family?

Also, we would like to know about the vaccinations. We will be returning to GUZ in China for a second interview, CR-1; we are thinking the medical exam will be good for both interviews, but the CR-1 needs vaccinations, should/can we get them now and avoid the second exam? Thanks again for all your help, Mike & Zhen

For question 5, you are the petitioner. If your US entry was by birth, just indicate born in USA. The "applicant" is filing the DS 230. That's your wife.

If you haven't done so already, I strongly recommend you go to http://www.candleforlove.com for China specific support. Please tell them I sent you.

Of course, you are welcome here, too.

I can't answer your question about the vaccinations and medical. We are adjusting status instead of returning for another interview. It's pretty rare for China.

GIV-24 Guide: http://laogonglaopo.com/001files/form/GIV-...IV-24_Guide.pdf

  • Get the vaccinations in China before leaving on the K-3, they are not too expensive at the medical center that does the medical for the visa.
  • Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR)
  • Tetanus and diptheria toxoids
  • Varicella

I forgot to address this. You'll notice in the guide that your family includes any former spouses. Hers does too.

It is easy to make mistakes! The guide has the USC's ex-wife and son listed in #6. and no ex in #7. I always seem to find these things when looking for my particular situation, thanks, Mike & Zhen

I have just checked, and there is now a revised GIV-24, since I printed mine, it looks like the same basic format but a different layout, the guide has the old layout, and the instructions are Chinese, not much help for me, I like to be able to reassure Zhen when she asks questions, I am sure we can get it straight before the P-4 arrives. Thanks, Mike & Zhen

Interesting that the old GIV-24 required the Chinese telegraphic code for the Chinese name. The new version of the form (May 2007) has dropped this requirement.

I can't believe we have a case number this short. They must have reached ten million and are

starting over at zero.
