I saw The Lion King on Broadway....you're in for a real treat.....the music is nice & the costumes are amazing.....the young boy who acts the part of Simba is really talented.....there are actually 2 that act that part on a rotating basis....anyway, have fun!

Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Mine was good. We just kind of lazed around. We did a little shopping and hung out with my dad a bit.

I was really excited because last week I had a job interview for a GREAT company that went really well. The guy called me back the very next day, wanting to schedule a second interview with the hiring manager ASAP. The interview was supposed to be this afternoon. Then, this morning, I got an e-mail from the woman who works at the staffing agency that got me the original interview. She said she'd just received word from the HR rep from the company that the hiring manager had changed up the requirements for the position, and was requiring something I'd had no experience with. So, my interview has been cancelled. :( I'm kind of bummed, but I figure, it must not have been meant to be.

I'm just trying to get through the rest of the week, and am letting thoughts of my upcoming trip to NYC this weekend console me. I'm going to see the Lion King on Broadway. Anyone ever seen it? From what I can tell, it's gotten great reviews. I figured it would be something Amed would enjoy. He's not into really arty stuff, or depressing dramas. I've tried to explain to him that there's not really a whole lot of stuff in the way of violent shoot-ups on Broadway. Hopefully I've chosen something he'll enjoy.

Happy Monday!

aw jen that sucks!!! I hope you can get someone to fix it but be sure to take it to someone who isn't just a hack but who knows what they're doing.

my left touch pad button is funky...i.e. doesn't give that little punch when you click on it. I think the kids spilled stuff on it so I have to bring it in to get looked at but not sure where since it's a Dell. Not even sure if they can get it to go click again. It works I guess but it doesn't give that satisfaction of knowing it's gone down if that makes sense.

So a week from today is your interview??? That is sooo fantastic!! Especially since people have been saying they can't get scheduled until Aug..though maybe since his was already scheduled he has first dibs? Does this mean you will stay in NYC then or are you still planning to move back out to Cali?

I'm just sitting here waiting for my nyquil to kick in. Hopefullly I'll feel better tomorrow since today sucked at work. I'm kinda bummed about our process but not sure I wanna get into details. Suffice it to say I don't know how hubby's gonna make it here in beantown with the laid back attitude he has. I mean here it's go go go and get it done done done and no messin' around, ya know? Granted it's not NYC panicky but a close second I'd say. He's had his military papers, he was sick as a dog, not able to get out of bed for two weeks and so last week was his first partial week out of bed and back on his feet. Well the next step is to get his passport but ........................... and this is where I get frustrated.....................his barber has been on vacation and is getting back tomorrow from a friend's wedding that he was at.

Why you may ask does this matter? Well apparently this man is the only man that can cut my husband's hair. . . and the hair has to be perfecto for the passport photos and for the visa photos since he is all into how it will look when he ultimately God willing presents his passport to future employers, etc. I'm like, honey your hair is fine...just do it!!! No no no....Machmoud has to cut my hair, habibti....I donnot know what I will do when I am with you, maybe I keep it long because no one else can cut my hair.

:wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko:

So, the medical and the CIB visa payment are both contingent upon his getting the passport. He tried to pay the CIB the visa fee but they would have no part of it until he gets the stupid passport.

Maybe he'll actually pass everything in before Christmas. :girlwerewolf2xn::girlwerewolf2xn::girlwerewolf2xn:

Well I love this monday as I just got offline preparing my husband once again for interview. He is going hie Tuesday mornign yes my Monday night for CR1 interview. He did very well for the K3 interview so I am prayign that he will do just fine tonight. He was going to eat and shower and sleep and be ready for the morning. The embassy finally replied to my email and said they can use everything that was turned in for the K3 the only thing they need is the immunization paper and paasport pics. YEAH :dance::dance: He has all of this ready as well as everythign else he took with him to the first interview, pics, emials, phone records, letters ready to go under his phone and car keys so that he doesn't forget.

Dear:

We prefer to issue the CR1 since it is better for the beneficiary in order not to wait for adjusting status after 2 years in the united states, then be granted the temporer green card. no need for new medical the only needed is the vaccination sheet.

Thank you

I've heard 50/50 here. That is, 50% say it would be good and easy for our spouses to be in NYC because they would blend in and not have such a hard time since they'd find people who speak the language, have public transportation, etc. The other half say it's best to bring them into a society where they have to work harder to learn the language better, etc.

If it were me, I'd stay in NYC and see if he can get a decent job there. You're lucky that he's coming on a K1 since you can get that stamp at JFK. PLus you're right there so no changing planes, etc.

I'm excited for ya though!!!! We'll have to have a slumber party!!!

i worry most about the car situation. in LA is is absolutely necessary to have a car/insurance/gas...a huge expense. actually its cheaper to live in NYC than LA if you can find a decent rent (like i have)

ugh but with me having no job either...that is the scary part.

I worry about it too. I remember Jean (I wonder how she's doing btw) talking about what a rough time Mohammed was having trying to pass the written part of the test. We're right on the commuter rail so getting into town is not an issue but it'd be nice if he could drive and get the food shopping every so often or at least have that option if i'm sick or something.
