Congratulations! Interestingly, I got my I130 NOA1 on 12/17/18 and my I129f NOA1 on 9/4/19, and I applied from Japan, too. Just goes to show that there's no rhyme or reason to when an individual's applications get processed. Again, congrats!

Thank you!

Yeah some people are waiting much longer for I-129 denial. I think we were just lucky.

I’ve been visiting this thread from time to time throughout the last year, since it used to be a great source for quick and reliable information about the developments at NSC. For an occasional visitor like me it has become a little confusing ever since the majority seems to be going the K3 route. Furthermore, the masses of I-129F applications affect the accuracy of the VJ approval estimate, which therefore has become quite useless for Nebraska filers.

I’m kind of lost. Is there anyone who is still keeping track of which PDs are currently processed for regular I-130 filers? In the visa timeline you can already see approvals from October but it's not clear whether they are I-129F filers or not.

So my Rep finally responds a letter in a form of political propaganda. I don't know how dense these individuals are. It's great that they too came here for a better life, but being disconnected with the question of "Why is Nebraska USCIS getting further delayed?" and not providing a focused answer. And lumping statistics with LPRs yes LPRs are waiting much longer, but that's the law, a visa has to be waiting for them.

If she really wanted some change she would file a bill and get supporters to reform immigration law, but neither side wants change the laws. Inquiries will fix nothing.  Sorry a bit of a rant (I am still on the fight for better processes even though I am already past the USCIS phase)

Without the K-3 it's taking approximately a year to get approved at Nebraska.

It's more than a yearfor processing. If I was you I would have pulled the trigger on the I-129F. It doesn't hurt. It will get denied. Even if you do it now and your I-130 got approved while it was in transit. Same result you just lose postage.  I helped a co-worker with his and just waiting for his case number now. He filed in March. USCIS should just shut down Nebraska and move the service center to where there's plenty of people that want to work.

My I-130 journey so far:

Nebraska service

PD: Jan 9, 2019

Haven't heard anything since, and processing time shows 12.5 to 16 months now : ( Keeps getting delayed.

Is I-129 worth filing? If it is denied, does it impact original I-130 process? I will appreciate your thoughts. Thank you,

Absolutely worth filing. Our I130 is Feb 14 2019, we filed I129f July 31, now we were just approved with the I130/denied I129f around 2 weeks ago on September 19 2019 (50 days after filing I129f) and sent off to NVC already (8 days after approval) and now we're waiting for case number. I estimate we shaved around half a year or more off of our processing time by filing I129f. It won't affect the original I130 process save for making it a lot faster

Fill it out asap. I used to keep some statistics about all the I129F sent between july 1st-18th (so i could keep up with my own k3 process, which was sent on july 18th), and all i can tell you is that 76 out of 93 were already denied and got their i130 approved, last time i checked (around 2 weeks ago). Our i130 PD was march 13 and we got approved 60 days after sending it. It won't affect your i130 process at all. We shouldn't have to do this, but unfortunately it's been the only way to get through Nebraska lately...

Lily, sorry for a quick follow up. I checked USCIS processing time page. It says I-129F processing time is 7 months to 13 months. Nebraska is at least 7 months. I am confused. I assume when you applied back in July, the processing time for I-129F must have been shorter? Thanks for your response.

Gabrobill, thanks. For the cases, you tracked, do you recall approximate time frame to hear decision on I-129F? I am seeing anywhere between 7 months to 13 months for I-129F decision.... depending on which service it goes to. Thanks for your response.

Nope, when I filed the K3 it said 5-7 months for the I129f, I filed anyways based off of people's stories here. Nebraska's K3 timeline is not accurate, most everyone that I've seen gets their I130 approved within 3 weeks to 3 months after filing the I129f for the K3. The average is around a month and a half turnaround after filing the I129f. There are very few K3 petitions in the first place (since the K3 itself is essentially dead; a K3 petition serves no purpose anymore other than to speed up Nebraska processing, so it's only filed by us who are looking for faster approval, and by those who don't know the K3 is dead), plus the fact that they are trying to clear out K3 petitions as quickly as possible to administratively close the K3 in a year or two, so they get to them quite fast. Shouldn't take more than around 2 months after I129f NOA1 for your I130 to be approved. Also in regards to your comment to Gabrobill, your I129f will 100% be sent to Nebraska to be linked with your I130, so don't even worry about what other service centers say about I129f
