Hi guys...am worried my l-29f was denied today and when I called them they said my l-130 is still pending.....what should I expect ....

Try calling again in a day or two. It just might not be updated yet. I can't see why else they would deny the I129f if not for a decision on the I130. But if there's still nothing on the I130 after a few days you'll just have to wait for the I129f denial letter in the mail to see why it was denied if you haven't gotten approved by then

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

If when you call they still say the I130 is pending, maybe you can have them look up the I129f and ask them why it was denied, not sure if they can see the reason but it’s worth a shot

When you guys sent the I-129F, did you attach a cover letter or anything of the like?

@LilyJ @Mr. Bama@Pininfarina

yes I did a cover letter. My letter only explained some additional bonafide evidence i submitted with my I-129f that i did not send with the i-130. Also my letter thanked them for considering my i-129 and I ask if its possible to process it promptly without delay. My letter was short. i submitted the required documents and submitted 2 pieces of additional evidence of bonafide relationship.

I’ll feel more relieved when I see IOE receipt numbers being processed for K3. Not that it should matter, but you know how it is!

We have an IOE receipt number. My husband just mailed our I-129F package this morning. Hope it works! 🤞🏻 Will update you guys!

Hi VJ community,

Have been following closely but first time posting.

My I-130 was approved yesterday!

It couldn't have happened this early without learning about I-129F trick from this community.

Thank you so much :)

I130 NOA1 4/8/19

I129f NOA1 9/5/19

I129f denied 9/30/19

Congratulations! Interestingly, I got my I130 NOA1 on 12/17/18 and my I129f NOA1 on 9/4/19, and I applied from Japan, too. Just goes to show that there's no rhyme or reason to when an individual's applications get processed. Again, congrats!
