I just thought of something, how come they ask for passport photos, are they giving us a new passport?

No they don’t give you a new passport. I’m not sure what they use the photos for because the beneficiary has to bring in new passport photos to the interview anyways. Just to have faces to go off of I guess? Maybe someone else knows lol

Yes exactly. It took 50 days (around a month and a half) from I129f NOA1 to I130 approval/129f denial, but for some it takes shorter or longer

How long did it take for the 129F NOA1 to appear in your mail?

I don't know I didn't do it. My coworker got a text and email when he did it.

Hey guys, we have a pending I-130 and I have some questions regarding the I-129f workaround, especially directed to those who have already filed and got a positive outcome recently (like @JMPM @LilyJ).

1-Does it work if both spouses are living abroad (both the u.s citizen petitioner and beneficiary)?

2-Are there any fees associated with the I-129f?

3-What do you send with the I-129f in terms of documents/proofs? And, do you also send in G-1145 for getting notifications by phone/email? Please, detail this answer.

4-I think this question is on a lot of people's minds: Considering that the processing times for NSC for K-3 is kind of fast, what happens if they, god forbid, do NOT deny the I-129f? And, can it be withdrawn without withdrawing the I-130 at a later time?

We truly appreciate some answers here as we intend to go through with this step asap.

Thank you!

1) So far yes

2) No fee with a pending I130

3) Yes you can include the G-1145 I believe. Documents needed are photocopies of petitioners proof of citizenship, photocopy of marriage certificate, photocopy of I130 NOA1, 1 passport sized photo of petitioner, 1 passport sized photo of beneficiary (unsure if the beneficiary photo is required, we included it anyways). I don’t think I left out anything but someone can chime in if I did

4) Highly unlikely to receive a K3, there’s only been 3 so far this year afaik. They won’t approve the I129f if the I130 is approved because an approved I130 nullifies the reason for a K3 visa (which is to come to America while waiting I130 approval). What’s been happening for, as far as I’ve seen, everyone, is the I130 is approved and the I129f is denied, either same day or one day apart from each other. Though I would be prepared in the slim-to-none chance a K3 is received in which you’d need to adjust status after arrival

Thanks, @LilyJ. This is very helpful.

I wonder if anyone has faced any issues with this shortcut at all, and if so, what was it?

It does seem to be a pretty straight forward procedure, and that also makes me wonder if someone got through it already all the way (or close) to the visa interview yet?

I didn't file a k-3 my coworker did though. I just hate Nebraska with a burning passion. I'm still sending emails of complaints about the service center.

Wow that is really close, I will follow your page to see your progress and you can follow mine as well. But I posted VisaJourney's prediction below:

Based on timeline data, your I130 may be adjudicated between May 17, 2020 and July 7, 2020*.

Not sure how accurate this is.
