Please what do they say any hope the immigration lawyer

All that was said was the New petitions and that the law moves forward not backward. From all the news reports It basically says all immigrant visas will be banned. So confusing.

Always.

Btw, I think you should expedite your case for medical reasons. Provided that you can send proofs to the USCIS. Only you can really know if your condition is worthy or not.

You can find more information about this on the forum.

Obviously you want to get your visa asap before the travel ban is inflicted, or at least during the time when it is temporarily suspended by the courts (which it will, sooner or later).

Congratulations, am happy for you, but the rest of us are facing this new ban and may never be able to spend our lives together here in the US. You are one of the lucky ones indeed!

Wasn't really aware of the recent developments as we've been sucked up in our daily activities.

I must say these are difficult and trying times.

When things like this happen, the best thing to do is run to the Lord.

Put all your worries in His hands, and He will put His peace into your heart.

He opens doors no one can close.

Hoping for a turn around for all those affected by this setback.

🙏

https://www.dhs.gov/news/2020/01/31/2020-travelvisa-restrictions Unfortunately it does affect anyone who does not yet have an immigrant visa by then. However, it's not a permanent law, if I remember correctly Nigeria is already working on getting up to the US' standard for data sharing, once they show improvement the ban is likely to be lifted. Many things can also change at any time. Trump could be not reelected and a new administration could remove all the bans, Trump could decide himself to remove the bans once improvement is shown (he has already removed the previous travel ban on Chad so this shows that the ban can be removed), etc etc. It's also no death sentence; a waiver may still be applied for after interview even if the ban is still in place by then, meaning the immigrant could still receive a visa. Many things could change and, where there is a will there is a way. I encourage you all to not lose hope

Do they update the case statuses online individually or in batches?  What is the first approval notification that can be expected, an email or change in status? Or a letter?

Good questions. I’d also like to know. I think for some people it’s online change in status, for others it’s a letter and online never gets updated... who knows.
