Oct 2018 is just the inquiry date, Nebraska takes around ~12 months for petition approval, right now we’re seeing mostly Jan and feb 2019

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

You have no idea. I've seen cases from 2018 that has been approved only a few days ago, which made their total processing time approx. 19-20 months. Terrible, of course! But, also there's no way to tell what type of I-130 case these are. Some types of I-130s take priority over another.

On the processing time page it says that a USC filing for e.g. a spouse takes 12.5-16 months, but LPR filing for spouse takes 19.5-25.5 months. Do you think this could be the case with the I-130 which had such a long processing time?

That's exactly what I was implying.

Just to give you a further idea about the amount of processing needed in the coming months.

Feb, March, April, and May have a huge number of cases that require processing. May alone has 9000+ cases.

So, they don't take 1 month and finish it until the next, but they distribute the workload to offload a little from each month.

Here's what you need to do: Be patient and live your life.

Thank you so much for all the information and analyzing this process - I really appreciate it!

I am in now for 346 days, pd 19feb still nothing... I haven't seen much approvals within 6 months to be honest. Most of the cases are approved within 12/13 months after filing. I see people being approved that filed after me. There is no way I can ever find out why. Our guess is that every uscis worker  has their own little pile And some of them just work faster than other. You find a lot of support in this group and your definitely not alone waiting for the final answer. Good luck :)

UPDATE:

2018

Cases from May-December have been the focus of processing. The oldest case in May seen had a total processing time of 20+ months .. could be F2A cases? Maybe.

2019

Mid-end of Jan, and mid-end of Feb (remember those mass transfers?) also had a great deal of processing.

March kept getting lightly touched. Didn't come across April or May just yet.

@Niia You're coming closer again indeed.

So I guess I can expect an approval till June or July, maybe August. This waiting period is so frustrating.

Hope your approval comes soon. It's very frustrating. I check my status daily but it's the same.
