I checked several receipt numbers close to ours.  Our receipt date is January 15 2019.  ALL receipt numbers I found with a receipt date of January 15 are still Case Received.  I found 6 or 7 cases.  Obviously they are working cases newer than ours these days.  Is it just a coincidence that January 15 cases are not being worked?  I am wondering if January 15 cases got lost.

I’ve seen cases in second and third weeks of January 2019 already approved at Nebraska when I searched for similar timelines to mine on visajourney. Also did the same on the case tracker app. This is so frustrating.

Why wait when you can actually call USCIS directly and ask about the transfer.

I have no idea if this has ever happened before.

Hi

i have called them and transferred to Vermont service center as of yesterday they have jurisdiction over the I 130. But the customer service agent said Vermont is running behind like 13 months to 17 months from start to finish. Not sure if this is true or not.

Thank you for letting us know. It's important to understand that the stated processing times online are not accurate at best.

I'll try to keep an eye on your case PD and will let you know as soon as there's an update.

So you are somewhat in the same boat as us, that is reassuring.  I just hope the January 15 cases didn't get lost or trashed accidently.  Try to find cases on your exact date and see their status.  It would be interesting if cases on your exact date have been processed.

I just talked to a lower level USCIS officer. According to her my background checks on both I-130 and I-129f hasn't been completed yet. Looks like I have to wait for another year for this thing to be over. smh PD : Jan 4, 2019

I'm sorry to hear that. Hang in there. May I ask what country is the beneficiary from? Did you have many previous petitions? Tryng to see if you have any idea of what could've caused this background investigation.

Beneficiary is from Nepal. Filed for my parents 5 years earlier which was approved in less than 2 months. Filed for my spouse couple of years ago but they requested RFE which I wasn't able to provide at that time. This time around I had the evidence they were looking for tho.

I guess because you didn't respond to the RFE, you are being given a little bit more scrutiny this time. You should be fine in the end.

I explained my situation to her and why my spouse needs to be here asap. Since I don't qualify for expedite so I was hoping she would atleast tell me what was going on. The only detail she gave me was my cases havent completed their background checks. Wasn't much help but still better than nothing. :(

Hey Guys!

Not a Nebraska filer (I'm so sorry for you all though, really.). My best friend filed in March with Nebraska, so I still share in the pain you are all experiencing. Saw this on Facebook and thought it might add a little joy to your life knowing there is at least SOMETHING you can do. Good luck all! I'll be praying things speed up.

Merry Christmas to all ! 🎄

Last week I spoke with the USCIS Ombudsman’s office. They recommended that Nebraska fliers write to the USCIS Director’s office to inquire about the lengthy processing times at Nebraska. So here’s what you need to get your letter to them:

Here’s the names and addresses for people “in charge” at USCIS -

Kenneth Cuccinelli, Acting Director USCIS

Donald Neufeld, Associate Director, Service Center Operations Directorate

Daniel Renault, Associate Director, Field Operations Directorate

425 I St NW
Washington DC 20001

Maybe someone will sit up and take notice 🙏
