Was it I130 cases? Seems so weird for them to transfer cases that are already so close to approval

Yes and yes. But I believe they're actually trying to balance things out.

At first, I thought transfers occur when the petitioner belongs to a specific state (which used to be the case before). Now, it could just be to get rid of backlogs or to avoid them altogether.

I detected over around 1000 cases in consecutive sequencing and they seemed to be queued for processing this or next week.

Yeah these days at least it’s for backlog since they’ve stopped assigning service centers by state. It seems strange to me to transfer cases so close to being done but if I had to guess I would think maybe so that they can get to march faster and see more “instant” results I suppose, bright side is all those feb cases will pretty much be instantly processed when they get to Potomac/Texas since both Potomac and Texas are already in June-July

Update:

Approx. 1000 cases from Feb have been transferred to another office today.

If your case happened to be in Feb 11,12,13, or 14, check if it was transferred online, and if so, call USCIS to find out which new office is handling these cases and let us know here.

I think Nebraska is speeding up by load balancing the case payloads for 2019.

Yup I am one of them,

today I got transferred from Nebraska, filed on 02/11/2019.  Let’s hope they start moving

Please, let us know to which service center your case was transferred to.

Yes indeed,

as soon as I receive the letter I will let you know and I will also add it to my time line.

i am praying it will be sent to Potomac or Texas that way it will be a fast processing.  I think we have been fair by waiting 12 month in Nebraska.

has this ever happened before and what was the turnaround time frame?

Why wait when you can actually call USCIS directly and ask about the transfer.

I have no idea if this has ever happened before.

Thank you.

I didn’t even know that was an option, I will phone them first thing in the morning. What is the trick to speak to a human and not the automated ?

Are you seeing this transfer information on my.uscis.gov?

Yes I checked but it didn’t give me much info .

this was in my email tho

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

Receipt Number: LIN1990258.....,

Application Type: I130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On January 13, 2020, we transferred your Form I130, PETITION FOR ALIEN RELATIVE, Receipt Number LIN1990258...., to another office for processing and sent you a transfer notice. The notice explains why we transferred your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by February 12, 2020, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

This is actually good. Although initial background checks are usually initiated after a petition is received.

I pray they should get to April Soon
