We've all been in that emotional place at one point.

Don't let one bad day get you off your game.

The trick is to never let a bad day make you feel bad about yourself or your life.

The future holds more in store for both of you.

All the best!

It happens..

Even to us 😑

So... just entered the states to visit hubby for the holidays. thought I’d let you all know of any issues while visiting on ESTA with pending CR1 at NVC Stage.

Landed at LAX, just 3 questions:

- how long is your visit...? 1 month

- business or pleasure? Pleasure

- who are you visiting? Husband

Stamped my passport and said have a lovely day.

Ive never lived in the States but ive been there countless of times. My husband has been gone for 11 years For his expat assignments. Is anyone else worried that once we finally get to realize our dream in the States, it will not be as great as we had hoped? 😕

I think we all wonder how it will actually be after all the waiting but I have faith that things will be okay. What else is there to do. Best of luck.

Hey everyone.  My case was approved on Oct. 31 and I have not heard anything since the initial approval.  I heard it takes 4-6 weeks for NVC to receive your case and it has now passed the 6 week mark.  I tried calling NVC but the prompt said that all service reps were busy and to call back later.  Any advice?

Keep trying, I guess. The only faster way to get your case number is by actually calling NVC at least 1 time a week.

In a similar boat as your husband it seems, just passed the 11 year mark of being abroad 😉

It will be a big change for us (and our 2 children) - I'm not too worried and I think it'll be the right call once we get settled but you never know...  There is always an option to leave again!

Yeah, we have two little kids ourselves and after all the traveling we want to settle down and give them a normal life. They hold European passports as well, so in the end it wouldn’t be too hard to pack up and leave again. I never minded moving to the States, but now with the two little kids I am a little more worried about everything! :)

If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine. It's lethal...Lol

And remember, one's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.

So, wait for extraordinary opportunities, seize common occasions and make them great.

All the best moving forward.

I’m hearing you, it is a very nerve racking.. personally, I’ve never had any ambitions toward living in the states and to be honest after living / visiting numerous countries and travelling to the states to visit hubby several times, I still prefer the beautiful coastal living and lifestyle of my own country over that of New Orleans (except the food, omg Cajun food is so good)

One thing I can say with 100% honesty during my interview, is that I only want a visa because I want to be with hubby, heck they can hook me up to a lie detector if they like 😂... if it wasn’t for my hubby loving his job and for the significantly more expensive/time consuming Aussie immigration process, I’d of had hubby move to me for sure...

in saying this, the only thing we can truely do is love our partners and take each new challenge as it comes and try make the best of all opportunities.. at the end of the day, home is where the heart is.. and that’s with hubby... if that’s in America, so be it..
