Hey y'all,

This is my first time posting, but I just got my i-130 approved (recently filed a i-129f) so I would like to share my info so I can add some more data points for you all:

Our CR1 Journey So Far:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 25 2019: Sent I-130 package
  • March 11 2019: I130 NOA1 (Nebraska Service Center)
  • Sep 10 2019: Sent I-129f
  • Sep 20 2019: I-129f NOA1
  • Oct 26 2019: I-130 NOA2 (Approved via email - 229 days from NOA1)

Looks like the I-129f still expedites the process. I was expecting the I-129f denial any day now as our turn was coming up based on the info posted by you guys! Thank you all for posting about it, we really needed help as we are stuck abroad and pregnant! :)

Now I need to get organized for the next stage!

Did you have an IOE receipt number

IOE is new and only started around June-July, since they petitioned their I130 in February they likely had an LIN and not an IOE number

My U.S.C spouse and I live together in Canada (we are both Canadian PRs). We are planning to send our I-130 petition soon and are concerned about the Nebraska Service Center. I see that sending I-130 & I-129f is working for a lot of folks here. Months and months of seemingly endless grueling wait and visa journey scouring has given you all some great wisdom and I hope to benefit from it. Before I ask my questions, I just wanna say hang in there, this is HELL I know but it WILL end in a happy result. Here are my questions, please share your opinions:

1. We are planning to apply online. Does the I-130 & I-129f trick work with online applications?

2. Is it advised to apply for both at the same time or wait for NO1 and see if you got Nebraska and only then apply for I-129f?

Thanks in advance folks!

I know but it’s crazy I seen someone who was at the Nebraska center get a proved in three months and received her case number in one month. So what’s really the deal. I know she sent her 129f but she didn’t have an IOE so is it really over.

1) Right now so far, it has not worked for IOE/online petitions. There are some who have tried, but no response I’ve seen so far. But who knows, no harm in trying

2) Imo, best to wait until after you’ve gotten the I130 NOA1. No point in sending an I129f if you get Texas or Potomac

Thanks! but if we file online and get Nebraska then we lose option of I-129f to speed things up? Should we file on-paper instead?

Yes the I129f is the reason for quick I130 approval for many with LIN numbers (with other reasons being emergency expedites). Unfortunately so far there’s been no movement on IOE cases with I129f. But there’s always a chance and there’s no harm in trying as I129f is free with a pending I130

Even if you file by paper, the petition will still be an IOE being processed electronically as all I130 petitions are now IOE petitions, so it would be the same as an online. As of yet neither online nor paper petitions with IOE numbers have had I129f work. But like I said, no harm in trying

Thanks for that. Quick follow-up questions -

1. Since when did the folks start getting IOE numbers? basically I am trying to figure out the oldest IOE numbers who sent I-129fs who are waiting for the approvals?

2. Also, is I-129f paper based only or online too?

1) The pilot program was around May-June, but the pilot program has ended, and now every filer since around June-August receives an IOE receipt. If you check one of the K3 threads I think there is a thread for IOE I130&I129f filers

2) As far as I know, I129f is paper only
