Here is what the USCIS acting director Cuccinelli (dated July 25, 2019) had to say about I130 (and other )delays, in response to a letter from Senators Hollen and Cardin (dated June 11, 2019).

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/nativedocuments/Processing_delays_-_Senator_Van_Hollen.pdf

As shown in the excerpt below, USCIS's own goal for processing I130s from start to finish is 150 days (around 5 months). They meet that goal for 41% cases. That's terrible. I'd get fired or be on the path to getting fired with that kind of performance.

I filed my K3 way after the 150 day goal USCIS has set for itself.

I don't see filing of K3's being one of the factors in Cuccinelli's response to the senators.

Here are the average processing times for cases filed over past couple of years.

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/historic-pt

As can be seen in the table below, there has been a consistent yearly increase in average processing times since 2017.

Cycle time includes process time, during which a unit is acted upon to bring it closer to an output, and delay time, during which a unit of work is spent waiting to take the next action. In a nutshell, cycle time is the total elapsed time to move a unit of work from the beginning to the end of a physical process

Everyone who is upset about people filing the K3, don’t worry, many of our petitions are already out of the way of the line, and those who are still pending with the K3 will be out of the way soon, so at least it’s shortening the line faster than it usually would  🤪

  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted

I don't know about that. The length of the line is not shortening. Instead, the officer tending to your line is looking at people behind you as well because they filed a K3. 100 from the line, 1 who filed a K3 per day; as opposed to 101 from the line per day (the numbers are not real - they're just there as an example).

Our applications (January\February) were originally behind the 2018 applications. However, they let use a different shorter line after the K3 for whatever reason only employees at Nebraska know. They aren't legally obligated to do that. They could legally sit on your K3 until your turn comes up in the normal K3 line. But for some reason they are being humane.

A significant number of K3 applications (and they still process them fast) in the system could slow things down for non K3 filers. However, from what I have seen so far not a lot of people - relative to the total number of I130 applications - are filing the K3.

At the end of the day, a lot what we say about wait times is speculative. It seems this process does this to you. Turns you into a master speculator.

We don't really know what's really going on at these service centers. 😂

This is true, I used to spend weeks and months wondering and searching online for answers. No one really knows what happens at these facilities and I'm sure they would use some sort of excuse to explain why some individuals wait longer than others... we will never know :bonk:

In the end this is all that matters.

Looking into the eyes of your spouse and knowing you did everything humanely possible to be together.

Those that want to wait are content with waiting and knowing they ignored a method to be with their loved one sooner. They can live with themselves that's cool too.

Time can be spent, or wasted but once it's used it's gone forever. Time can't be gained or traded. And you never know how much time you got.

Unless you're holding out on society and found a way to create more time in life.

I definitely not going to waste time waiting for inefficient govt agencies. That's why I made all the noise to get my petition pushed forward. Calling out Nebraska SC mismanagement. I sure wasn't going to sit on my hands. When the k-3 things started I went on a two month trip and I was going to file it as soon as I got back but no need on my case. I probably annoyed the right folks with all those USCIS and dhs employee emails I sent.

So in reality I skipped the line by being an annoying a hole

Spend your time wisely and take advantage of any avenue to not waste time. Unless you found a way to create it and are cool with looking into your spouse eyes and letting them know you did your best.

Govt works for the citizen. Being obedient was not an option. I made sure in my case I didn't wait unnecessarily.

👍🙌...  I think that it helped speed up our case as well. I suggested it to another VJ member and her I-130 was approved in a few days after she submitted the K3 application. 😊

Yes I know, just making a jest 🤪 But it is still shortening it even if that shortening is happening behind them 😂 But, K3 filing as you said is very small compared to sole I130 filings. K3 filers are not who non-K3 filers need to be lecturing: USCIS and NSC is who everyone should be lecturing
