Hello I'm new to vj.

I'm male. My wife always threatened to call the immigration cops on me anytime we quarel. She locked d door anytime I come late. And always warn me to never visit my friends. I have been suffering depression since then. I always beg her like a slave anytime we quarel

We have first interview. And broke up few weeks after. She threatened to go back to tell the io that she is nolonger with me and they will report me.. I love her but she left me. Few months we got another interview.  Even tho we separated I still contacted her but she didn't pick up call. She texted with threat of deportation and restraining order.

I hired a lawyer who went with me to interview and ask d io to put the 485 on hold. Luckily she did. Now I'm planning to file vawa.

The problem is that I dont have witnesses. My friends say they can't write about abuse but can write that we live together.

I have done 4 counseling sessions. They diagnosed depression and anxiety.

I have police clearance from my city

Marriage cert

Lease

Xfinity

Car insurance

Dental insurance.

Few pics of us

My ex have all pics of of us in her phone.

Driver license showing same address

My pastor also wrote me a good character with the church letter head.

The only affidavit I have now is from my brother who wrote that she has spoken to my wife b4 marriage affirming the marriage is real

What are my chances. Pls help. I love u all btw

Male here as well .. and i an sorry about your situation 😞😞 i have pending i360 as well

Is your ex threatening to withdraw the i485? If no then you can ask to put it on hold! It's less hassles this way! What is the reason your attorney gave for wanting to withdraw it? Huh? So he can get to charge you fresh fee? 😏 how convenient!😁 or should I say fresh? Anyway get proactive..ask him the reasons and tell him you prefer to put it on hold! I really need to know if your ex is disturbing..or threatening you in any way..especially as it concerns your i485! That way you can file a new one after closing the one pending for now..if this is not the case, then put your foot down! It's your life, your case and your money!!!

I think the ex can only withdraw the I-130, but the I-485 belongs to you and you can ask the IO to hold the I-485 until VAWA adjudication. If you filed the I-360 bring the receipt to show them!

The big question is why is the lawyer advocating for withdrawal of the i485? It can be put on hold like I said..except he has ulterior motives!😏😏👎

Any male victims here who has approved vawa??  I should not have read internet articles. It says that mens has less chances of getting approval as compared to women 😞 no matter how strong your case is

Yes I’m male from Texas and I got approved in April, as long as you have strong evidence about your case, you’ll definitely be approved. Stay positive bro.

Hello All,

I trust everyone is having a very beautiful Saturday afternoon, the sun is up, the weather is beautiful, all glory to God!! 🙂

Please I have a quick question, the 180 day EAD extension, does it come with our approval letter or with the EAD card itself? I didn't receive it from my attorney's office when I received my EAD so I want to follow up with them on Monday about it.

Thanks in advance. Have a blessed day all 🙂

You do not get any ead with 180 days extension. You can continue working with your expired ead and show i797 receipt to your employer. In i797, it always written that you have 180 days extension

Your 180 days EAD extension is the NOA you received! Read it through carefully..second to last paragraph says it serves as extension for 180days if you have duly filed the renewal in a timely manner! In their own words..not exactly the words I've used here..have a blessed evening yourself!💫💫💫😊👍

@Stillwinning!!!😊, @Shroy123 thank you so much for your fast responses, I appreciate it. I will follow up with them on Monday as my NOA does not state anything about that at all, all it says is if the I-485 has been pending for 6 months and we need to change employers, is that the one? Thanks

Even if it doesn't state it, it still is your extension..I forgot to include this bit in my earlier response! It's says so on the USCIS site if you take the time to research on it! Not all NOA states it..but it still is an automatic extension!

WOW! Sorry about all you have been through! The way I see it, your own affidavit is your strongest point..sought of! You need to pour out yout heart into the affidavit and explain everything from start to end do not mince words, don't hold anything back, put it all down! If your friends can't write about the abuse but can attest bonafide marriage and shared residence, then gladly take that! For abuse you can get the psychological evaluation report showing you have been attending counselling, were diagnosed, went through therapy, the outcome, and perhaps referral... Your family..can write about the abuse as well because they should be aware! The combination of your powerful affidavit, your family, and mental health practitioner report can tender a good evidence for the abuse requirement! Try to read previous post so you know the documents needed to file this petition! Also keep attending therapy!👍

Thanks brother!.  In my good character report, do you think it's ideal I mention that I have started a business that can employ about 20 -30 americanas. Do u think I should attached my business certificate to it?

I am a very industrious person and I have always wanted to have my own business

During my abuse I started d business idea it's more like a car wash. . It . My wife didn't know much about it. But I slowed down because I was depressed.

But now I have been approved to operate. Will this count as a moral character

I'm female in btw!😁 putting that down in your affidavit portrays you as a serious minded and hardworking individual..I'm not sure about it making you look pristine! There are lots of business owners who are shady! It might be more helpful during your i485 interview though! But if you believe strongly that it might count positively for you you can input it but don't dwell on it...they want to know that you haven't been involved in anything shady from the past and even now..generally well behaved and a person of integrity! Sell yourself as you would if it were a job interview!😄 get police clearance from your location..and if you were here less than 3yrs before applying for VAWA, get police clearance from your home country as well! Let friends, family, neighbours, church members write affidavits also reiterating you are morally upright and generally a person of good conduct! If they won't write about abuse, get them to write every other affidavit! Good moral character, bonafide marriage and shared residence! Wish you all the best!

Hi Fam,

the interview letter I got looks like this. I have attached it. It differed greatly from standard interview letters. Has anyone’s i485 interview letter been something remotely similar to this?

Just confused.
