So, my mom and sisters had their affidavits of bonafide marriage sworn in a high court in their state back in my home country. 

 

Is that okay to be sworn in a high court or must it be a notary public ? 

 

And they are having their photocopied IDs certified TRUE COPIES by a notary public .

They mailed u a letter stating due to privacy u cannot file an online request and will have to mail a letter to Vermont VAWA Unit

My folks from back home didn't notarize anything...they wrote and signed..attached copies of their i.ds that's it...but I believe every officer is different...you should be ok!👌

You’re right every officer is different and with USCIS today you can’t take any chances. We gotta do everything right .

My EAD XXMM expired on Mar 2019

On Dec 18, I applied for another EAD XXYY 100 days before my EAD XXMM expiration

I received courtesy letter on Dec 18 stating that i am eligible to work upto 180 days 

But- on that courtesy letter, they included a receipt number of my EAD XXYY instead of XXMM. 

What does it mean? i am working on my EAD XXMM category c09 as it was expired on Mar 19 but eligible for automatic 180 days extension.

 

Need help as i am sending my ead XXYY expedite package to vermont. do i need to include that i am currently working on automatic 180 days extension rule?

How do I check if my I485 was held?

My lawyer wrote them a letter to do so but i want to make sure it actually happened. My case status for I485 still says "ready to be scheduled for interview". 

 

Additionally, I have not received my Prima Facia yet. I want to start divorce process with my spouse, What do you all think I should do? wait for the prima facia first? I am really confused as I want to get divorce before my spouse vanishes or does something crazy, I have not heard from them since April. At the same time I want to make sure my situation is secure. Please advise.

Mine said that for a while after I asked them to put it on hold..it later went from ready to be scheduled for interview to transferred to another office...as for your prima facie..you can ask your congressman to enquire about it for you...not sure if you need it for anything..but if you do..then pursue it.seen few cases were they never got prima facie..but approved! I don't think there is a way to check if the i485 was held..except through infopass or when your status updates.

ah.. ok. I don't plan to use prima facia for anything other than mental peace. just so I know that the case is accepted and meets their requirements and I can divorce the evil person without fear. 

so much instability  all this creates... but we get better and better at being more agile.

😊 totally understand! When did you file again...I'm sure if they didn't accept your case they would have returned it...also what's the hurry with the divorce? If you're not planning on re-marrying then...but it's fine..if it gives you peace!👍

Ideally, I would not mind waiting for the divorce but my ex is very unpredictable. I don't want them vanishing or creating more mess in my life. Hence the confusion. 😑

Prima facie can come anytime..or not..depends..it doesn't mean your case wasn't accepted or doesn't meet criteria! But you can ask your congressman to enquire..like you say, for your peace! I believe you can have a divorce without your spouse being involved if it is uncontested! Research more on it...

It is a new application so you will have a different EAC number for your EAD Renewal.

If you don’t mind ... can you tell me what all did you sent for the RFE and did you not include all those in your initial application... I am just asking wondering if they asked you again even after you had included in the first time ...  just asking so that I can prepare better

( on approval letter, priority date was july 2019 which is the date that I filed very first 485 with an abuser. So VAWA applicants kinda get the benefit by having earlier date of filing. Document with my name in US immigration is still alive and then they get the abuser out of the picture. ) 

 

Jul 19 2019 interview notice to mailing address with the letter saying bring medical. ( date on letter was 19th but it actually gets delivered on 29 so it was really tight. 

no online update for transfer to local office, interview is scheduled. Just mailed)

 

Aug 15 2019 interview

Aug 15 2019 midnight to 2am 

online update 

interview was completed and the case must be reviewed.

 

when the california time also becomes next day, the website refresh the page,  send out updates and get some of infos updated I think. 

So I could not open the status page for long. It kept saying "enter another receipt number" instead of showing the information. 

 

And last night, it did the same thing again. 

I got text message at 12:26 but I was able to see the page at 2:30 in the morning. 

 

That is really it. The journey has ended in God's grace. 

Now I can go DPS renew my driver's license that is NOT FOR A YEAR!!! 

 

 

@Elena hope Thank you so much, I appreciate it. And I definitely hear you on the DL renewal, I can't wait to get to the point where my DL renewal will be every 5 years instead of every year, sheesh, lol 🙂
