Is it normal to still have no update on your case after 70 days of your RFE was received from USCIS?

When you say update do you mean approval or that they have received your RFE? Because it takes about 30-90 days average to get a response! If you meant notification on receipt of RFE..then it happens sometimes..especially with their system glitches of late!

Hello everyone, I am new here and will be filing vawa, I just have some questions.

Hello!

you have come to the most supportive and positive space. I would recommend reading the previous threads... I remember I started reading from 2016 posts and up. Like @Stillwinning!!!😊 said, those are the key points. anything you can think of as a proof of abuse and/or good faith marriage is important to be looked at again. What I also did was look at the AOS threads on basis of marriage to get ideas of what can count for proof of good faith marriage and shared residence. take notes!

any question you have, no matter how small, ask us. it may take a little time for a response sometimes but you will be guided to the best of our abilities.

What exactly qualifies as proof? Other then proff of citizenship and marraige? What evidence did the people who were approved submit?

1. Proofs of bonafide marriage

2. Police clearance reports

3. Proof of extreme cruelty

I would say file it with your attorney he/she will help you gathering the documents

Thank you so much, I will look over other posts as well. What if you did not call the police but have multiple eye witnesses that witnessed the abuse?

tell them to write detail about the abuse in their affidavits. I do not have police report as well as my wife did not physically assaulted me. or did you get a chance to visit psychiatrist ? get your psychiatric evaluation as well and some medical records which shows your mental evaluation

Hello family!

I have been a bit MIA due to obligations and looking for work.

Firstly, Congratulations to all the approvals!!! 🥂💃🎉 So happy for you all!!

Additionally, Happy to report that I sent over my reply to the  RFE for good faith marriage, they received it on Aug, 15th and I got an update on the system saying " we have received your reply and will start working on your case again".

Next thing on the agenda, renewing my C09 work permit. it's valid till march 2020, when should I put in the request to renew? technically its no more than 120 days before but we all know the huge backlog... When is the earliest I can do this and what all do I need to submit?

I also want to request my Advance Parole... how does that work?

my c09 expired this March and i am currently working on EAD automatic 180 days extension which is expiring next month. even i am in a stress as well.. 😞 i applied mine on dec 2018 but my attorney mentioned c31 instead of c09. do you think it would delay my EAD?

Also, when did you receive an update on your case status after submitting your RFE? i mean after how many days?

I don't think they will deny deny... it may cause a snag... they may deny based on C31 and ask you to refile for C9. Did your lawyer not write to them or give you any idea on how they plan to fix it?

I am not sure when my lawyer actually sent the RFE response out, but would not be more than 2-4 days before i got the notification as i had handed over the packet to him less than a week before the update.

Did you apply at the 120 days before the EAD expiration mark? or sooner?

@TorresBelize, look at this handbook. it explains everything with examples of what counts as proof for each requirement. Remember, the examples they give are not exhaustive, there is so much more you can use.

What i mean is that it has been 70 days since i got update on my case that the USCIS has revived the RFE and will continue working on my case, is that like a normal time and how long does the usually USCIS takes to decide on your case after they revived your RFE

when my attorney filed my i360 and AOS together, in i765, he mentioned c31 instead of c09 but after 3 months i received c09 category EAD which expired this March 2019. However, i applied for a renewal on Dec 18 100 days before my ead expiration but my attorney mentioned again c31 instead of c09
