Should I fill out the first page of the petition I-360 if I do VAWA on my own?

Yes. Of you are filing Vawa on your own, you have to enter all the information by yourself unless you are using any attorney. :-) it is clearly written on the form which sections you need to fill

You Vawa Case is base on your last marriage where the abuse took place, I don't think previous marriage is Relevant to USCIS... The only thing they will need from previous marriages is the divorce certificate demonstrating the that marriage was legally terminated.

Thank you so much for replying. I appreciate it greatly.

Hey All,

Anybody has changed their address after VAWA approval? I had sent a change of address 3 months  before they approved it but they never changed it...

my current office would be Miami office and I moved to another city in the Palm Beach County. Anything I can do other than notarized letter?

Also, what happens if I have an expired combo card (advance parole and EAC) and I want to apply for an AP? Do I file a new application or is it renewal? Will an AP application delay the transfer of my file to my local office?

any VAWA applicants from South Florida waiting on AOS interview notice out here? I’m an Aug 2017 filer

thanks in advance ❤️

Hi There!

this is just my experience... when I got my VAWA approved, I realized that my pending I-485 based on marriage had my ex address, so I mailed Vermont changing the address and for about 2 months I did not get any update in my case. what I got was... we got your correspondence and we are reviewing it ( something like that) for me waiting 2 months just to know they got it... it was a long wait...

Also, you are talking about a combo card expired, I am guessing that you have a regular EAD, right? if so, you can apply for AP, that's what I did, back on March, I filled I-131, receipt date March 11... and I still waiting for the approval, my attorney told me that could take 3-4 months, but I think... they are behind :)

Hi @nap_o I never had issues changing address. I usually just certify my mail ($3.50) when sending out the form to them via USPS. You have the options of either notorizing  or buying certified mail or return receipt mail so they know its from you. They don't send a confirmation that it is updated, but i get my mails in the new address afterwards. In fact, i recently changed my address and its been updated. You can inquire from your congressman to confirm for you but i am positive they have updated it.

Yes, the expired AP is from my marriage based application... you just applied for a new one or re-apply?

Yes I’ve done this, and have changed the address before but this time they didn’t update anything. They sent my EAC to my previous address, the thing is I let the tenant know this is important for me and to look out for it, not to send it back.

I really want to change this because my new county has less waiting time than Miami and I assume my interview would be be sooner than Miami

I think, I applied for a new one, because my first EAD was a combo card, and when I renewed it, I did not file the AP, so got the regular, just did it this year and it’s taking so long...

I see, best of luck dear 🙏 thanks for your prompt response.

I will try to send my AP application soon, hopefully it won’t delay my case

Hello everybody, can someone tell me how to get a restraining order. Thanks

Family court.... following with a court date with both parties judge will review arguments and evidence and will decided if that temporary order have to be permanent for a year or more, or taken away.

The way i did it I went to the police first and got a report and they refer me to family court to get a order of protection with that police report and the judge  extend for 1 year after evidence was shown.

Both parties have to be present the date assign by the court,  if he does not show up is up to the judge to reschedule or provide you with a final Order of protection for the length she/he decide is appropriate in your situation. Keep in mind the order of protection does not enter in effect until he is serve with the court paper. Usually on domestic violence cases Marshall / court will serve him directly.
