VAWA Family,

We have cried together, disagreed on rules/regulations, and prayed together.  This morning I had my AOS Interview, and when I walked into the interview and the IO was smiling, I knew all prayers had been answered.

I was sworn in, and he asked me where was my lawyer, asked me husband's name, asked for medical, asked me where I wanted GC Card mailed (still having it mailed to safe address).  He then thanked me for coming early (I was there at 7 am cause I could not sleep), and GC will be mailed in 3-4 weeks.

Five mins ago I received this e-mail:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On August 15, 2019, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number EAC, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

It has been a long two year journey for this process, but a longer journey to be safe and away from harm.  To all be steadfast and hold onto God's unchanging hand, he will give you comfort and joy.

@Pinkrlion, Praiiissssseeeeee Jesus!!!!!!!! Darling sister, CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is just the beginning of many happy events to happen in your life. Please make sure you celebrate like we're all there with you celebrating 🤣🥳🙌🎉🎊, have fun, and then offer thanksgivings to God, songs of praises, little donation to your church or whatever you feel like, just praise the Most High God!!! I truly am happy for you, now 3 more years then file that citizenship, we are here, we got this, this is the land that God has made for us, amen!!!🙏🥰

Congratulations again 🙂

I went to my interview today, checked in 3mins to the time (lots of people), waited for about 1hour before I got called in.

Officer.... Did they check you in?

Me....yes Sir.

Officer.....how are you doing?

Me....am fine Sir

walked me to his office then placed me under oath.

Officer.....any new information?

Me yes sir......I have had kids since I filled

Officer..... do you have the birthday cert?

I handed him the one I got from hospital, husband name not on it.he said ok thank you, also took my passport and EAD to make copy.

officer...... I see you filled for vawa, I want you to know everything is confidential, were you been abused, when?

Me..... as soon as I started talking he cut me short ,only said two words when he said don’t worry,

Officer......Did you call the police?

Me....no sir I was not able to at that time.

Officer..... When last did you hear from him, we’re is he now?

Me.... I told him were he is

Officer........ does he know your address

Me .......no Sir

Officer.....ok, I just want to make sure you are safe and he doesn’t come back harassing you.

Officer..... Are you filling better now?

Me.....Yes but I be better when I have my life fully, I have kids to take care off.

Officer.... what is your DOB  and address?

I told him, I saw him marking a lot of things without even asking me.

Then he moved forward to asking me some yes or no question, he did not request for anything else, the interview lasted about 15mins. He told me I should hear within  4weeks,he needs his supervisor needs to review.

To add, the Officer was very sweet and respectful, joked with me about how big his office is, I did not go with a physical lawyer but I went there carrying God inside of me. I know I will hear good news soon.

@Ilo Congratulations!! Your GC is already approved in Jesus mighty name, wake up every morning thanking God in advance, and watch that GC arrive much sooner than you expected. Be blessed 🙂

Congratulations 🎉🎈🎊 everyone. It makes me incredibly happy to read the good news! I know it has not been easy and the road is filled with plenty of hurdles, but, for your children’s and your own sake and peace of mind, you can be confident that you don’t need to depend on anyone else for your legal status and things can only get better for you and your kids in the future.

As a reference point, it’s goid to know they are looking at cases from late August 2017 now.

Thank you all for sharing and the collective power of  positive thinking is real.

Good morning beautiful people,

Please, anyone in Houston Texas or Texas State. What did you use for good moral character report ? And where did you get it from ? I went to the Houston Police Department ID department and they did my background check and name check and gave me three identical letters stating I have no criminal record or ever been arrested . Don’t know if that’s the good moral character. The letter didn’t state for the past three years even though I’ve lived in the same county for four years .

I got police clearance certificate (pcc)from all US cities i lived in. The dates of stay hasn’t been mentioned in my letters too. Also i got pcc from my home country. I believe what you have is good. If you lived here shorter than 3 years at the time you applied for vawa, please get PCC from all places where you lived in that time period.

The letters of support from my family and friends also indicated my background and moral values. I think that covers the basic requirement for GMC.

On Jul 25th I received card production notification. No rfe.Waiting on vawa approval.
