how long does the medical exam good for? i did september 2018

now still wait for interview

You have do it againย I-693 validity wasย updatedย Effective November 1, 2018, theย I-693ย medical report will beย validย for two years from the date of submission to USCIS (and not one year as it is currently). At the same time, USCIS are shortening theย I-693 validityย period to 60 days from the date the Civil Surgeon signs theย I-693ย medical exam (it used to be one year).ย

ย

I-693 is valid for two after you submitted to USCIS.ย  If you did not submitted yet to USCIS and is been more than 60 days from your doctor signatureย itย is not valid anymore.ย

You did it September 2018 or you submitted it with your I-485 in September 2018????

ย

If you submitted it with your I-485, thenย it is good until September 2019 (You will receive a notification if you have to do medical again)

ย

If you did it September 2018, and did not submit it with your I-485, then it is no longer any good.

Mail from USCIS is not suppose to be forwarded. It will actually say on the envelope to not forward. Sometimes the post office sees it and sends it back other times they miss it and forward it. Do not take the chance of stuff being sent back!! Do the change of address as described in this thread (notarized to Vermont). Still keep an eye on informed delivery from PO and online status from USCIS.ย ย

Alright I will do that. Thank you much!

Congrats to all the approvals ๐Ÿ‘

i just read from a few pages back that you could go to interview from your original I-485 and get it approved if your husband didnโ€™t pull the petition (per sandranj)ย

WOW I wish I knew this back when I got my interview... the difference it makes having a good and bad attorney.ย

@sandranjย Iโ€™m still confused about it. USCIS policy manual says that unauthorized employmentย bars to adjustment do not apply to Vawa applicants. So how could work without EAD could be a reason to USCIS deny I-485 ? Have you seen it happen before? I justย want to understand how it really works.ย

I have a question about filing for FAFSA. My mother filed for vawa along with the i485 September 2018 of. She got a RFE and submitted it, and around December they confirmed that they had received it. She then got the prima facie determination on January 16th 2019. So, I'm currently in college and because she has me as a dependent the prima facie also extends to me and my siblings. Around July of this summer she filed the i485 for me because she thought why not and in hopes that I'll get an alien registration number to use when I fill out the FAFSA form. We got the notice that they had received it early August but the problem is that I didn't get an alien registration number of my own. The alien registration number on my i485 notice is the one of my mother's and it has us puzzled. Is this supposed to happen? I haven't had my biometric ls yet because they haven't given us a date but will I get my own ARN after the biometrics then? If not should I use my mom's ARN when filling out the FAFSA since that's the ARN on my own notice?

You will not receive an alien number because your mom filed her form. I-485

Received this response from my congressman. ๐Ÿ˜žย Now i have to wait.

My attorney mentioned c31 instead of c09 in i765 when i was renewing it that is the reason my EAD request cannot be expedite ๐Ÿ˜žย because of wrong category mentioned. WTH i am so so so annoyed right nowย

Am so sorry you have to go through this knowing your attorney made this mistake that will affect you working while you await the adjudication of your I-360 . This shows most immigration attorneys donโ€™t know their onion .ย

Thank you. I was already informed earlier of this. I will just go ahead and use the ARN# that my mom has since I'm labeled a dependent on the i360 and i485
