Hello All! I applied for VAWA on October 2016, my I-360 was approved on April 2018 and my I-485 was transferred to my local office NYC, over a year had passed and I have not hear anything from my local office, no interview date.

anybody in NYC with the same situation?

@sandraj any advice?

NYC Field office is very backlog. My initial I-485 base on marriage was filed on October 2017 and I got my interview date May 2019 (19 months after filling)... I really don't know what is the quque time after an I-485 is place on hold until Vawa adjudicated and after approval I-485 gets transfer again to NYC local Field office, do our count time starts from the date is transfer??

Hello Everyone,

This is my first time posting on here. I'll keep my story very short. I just applied for VAWA on 08/05/2019 and it was received on 08/07/2019. I have an upcoming Biometrics appointment on 09/12/2019. I would like to know, are there any filers here from Southern California (Orange and LA counties to be specific) so we can form a little group and share our timelines, struggles and successes? Looking forward to some replies hopefully. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

      Hope everyone is doing well. Uscis sent the courtesy letter to my attorneys office recently. I filed my application in aug 2017 and I’m based in NY. Im in the process of preparing for the medical exam and gathering my immunization records. Just a heads up. Wishing everyone all the best! Enjoy the rest of your day.

Hi,

    Did you already complete your interview? Could you please share what documents you need to bring with you? I’m not able to provide original copies of many docs as my ex hid it and withheld it from me and when I went back to get my things from the home with the police, there were missing from the drawers.

Thank you! 🙏

Hi when were you approved again.... It's hard to recall every timeline...also when did your attorney get the CL? I was approved March and got transfer notice in June..CL in July waiting for the interview letter before progressing to medicals! I see you are already making that move..do you have a date scheduled for interview? Thanks!😊

@sandranj and all other members on this forum ,I want to ask the procedure to renew my EAD under category co9,I got it through the marriage petition but had to file i360 and they held my i485 and send it to Vermont,so I want to ask if I’m suppose to pay for the renewal ?

There is no fee to renew the EAD, if you are using same category , but lately USCIS keeps returning the l765 form and they are asking  people to pay the USCIS fees . Several organizations addressed this problem with the USCIS but until now they didn’t solve this problem,that being said there is a possibility that you submit  the l765 without the fees and USCIS will

ask you to pay the fees or to file form l912.

I guess it’s save to just include the I-765 fee then, rather than having one’s application returned

I strongly believe you'll hear from them any time now with an interview date! Yours has taken really long..especially the transfer to local office! Remember Nichola2017 got scheduled within 8months and she's here with us in NYC! So I believe that all cases differ same state or not..probably depends on how fast the adjudicating officer schedules folks and other situations..but generally NYC takes quite some time!😕
