Morning friends.

This anxiety is killing me. EAD expiring within 2 weeks and no update yet it has been 9 months 😞

I dont want to leave my job i would be facing extreme hardships. I have submitted written inquiry as well to expedite but no update

Also, yesterday my divorce was finalized after 2 years of separation. When i saw my wife i-e ex wife there, all the torture, humiliations, insults, mental trauma that i faced because of her, i think i lived that again for a couple of hours. 😞 I am happy that she has a gone chapter of my life and now I can live my life peacefully but its so hard to forget bad memories

I thought you get 180 days of extension

and you can submit a renewal request 180 in advance ... so practically 1 year if you keep adding the 180+180

Am I missing something ?

180 days of extension is expiring within 2 weeks. original EAD expired in March 19 and I applied for renewal on Dec 18 3 months before the expiration. So since March 19, i am working on EAD 180 days extension

Hey there! Good thing your divorce has been finalized!👍 no one deserves cruelty!👎 that aside, USCIS of late has become all shades of inconsistencies! SMH! Once upon a time there was an established pattern that made speculation safe and even correct but now we don't know what to hold on to...some wait almost 10months for EAD renewal and I see others getting it at 3-4 months!😕 My C9 EAD renewal is still pending at 6months and I thought it was disturbing until I see folks waiting for way longer! They just need to do better! Yeah..that said, we need to exercise patience...you can always ask your representative...if they're not responding to you, they surely wouldn't ignore an authority!👍

Senator and congressman are your only option at this time telling them that this is clearly past the normal processing time

if you have a lawyer they can call on your behalf to the vawa hotline .

Talk to your job ; ask them how they can help . You can work volunteering in that work place until the approval comes through .., yes you may not get paid but at the very least you won’t have a break in employment.... and once the letter comes through they can put you back on payroll.

I don’t think senator office will do anything. They never do anything to help our cause. Senator office always comes back with a generic response.

Congressman/woman is more realistic, they do so much to help and push our cases.

The best way to expedite a EAD is through an Immigration officer. You need to write a very good letter pouring out your heart and how you not having a job is going to cause you economic situations especially losing your housing. And provide prove too.

I can't remember specifically but I believe VAWA won't be disclosing any information to you as anything pertaining to the petition is discreet! It probably is available to attorneys representing their clients...as I've heard severally here...but you can try and tell us about it!

It's always a good option to explore all resources available to you..instead of closing a possible door of opportunity simply because it didn't work for the next person...I can't say the same as you..as my senator has always been very helpful in my case..and everytime she enquired on my behalf, my case moves forward! And they always respond to her! There's no harm trying..of course not all of them are as effective as others...but you just never know what an enquiry will bring up...at different times!

That hotline number is for your attorney ... your attorney should know the number ... I honestly don’t know how people can contact Vermont vawa unit if they don’t have an attorney ( forgive me but I don’t really have knowledge on that )

you need to contact your congressman TODAY, with the letter from your employer ; you need to do it TODAY

I would have rather you did it in May which would have been 3 months since your EAD expired and you could have expressed that you requested a renewal 6 months back .

however that’s my opinion and I could very well be wrong and sound extra anxious and pushy .

But I am certainly worried that 2 weeks is now really full to brim kind of situation

you probably need to do something very much today

Hey everyone. Does anyone know how long it takes for a congressperson to get a response from USCIS?

No specific time..your representative gets back to you when they have updates from USCIS! I've tried to establish a timeframe..but it turns out it's inconsistent! From my experience though...I'm sure it's not the same with all of us!👍

You’re right and it depends on States . But, my congresswoman always works for me in my State. My State is a red state .
