Under new laws you must have EAD Approval to be able to renew it, you must keep

renew your EAD 3 months before expiration until you get your I360/1485 Approved to be able to get your DL plus once you get your I485 Approved you must go to updated your SS# and write a letter to IRS with your ITIN# (if you paid taxes previously) to transfer all those years to your SS#

What new laws @FridayGirl@69 ? Is that for most states . Because, the last time I renewed my DL my friend who works in the License office  just had to verify with DHS and got a response within four days . And I renewed with my 180 days extension . I have a friend too, who also renewed his DL a month ago with the 180 days extension. He was not even verified. Maybe it’s easier in the southern states .

I know Texas is very strict and now Illinois is becoming too.

May I just adjust the word the "new rules"

Here they asked me for my EAD to be current and once it expires the guy said my DL would too unless I get all appropriate documents for renewal.

Guys: You should google it every State is different, previously it was just a utility bill, bank statement, rental agreement to mention some to get DL now here in Illinois  you have to show proof of I-94,EAD,GC,Birth Certificate, Utility bill, etc... they gave me a pamphlet I couldn't renew to Real DL until I get my SS# to show them. I am waiting for it to go back to get it.

It’s different in my State . Just show your NOA and W2 and you’re good .

Hey there VJ family hope you are having an amazing holiday? I’m reaching out to you with the question should I ask my congressman to reach out to the USCIS? The reason why I’m asking you is that it is day 82 since they received my RFE and still they haven made a decision, is that normal should I worry? And should I just wait ?  Thank you.

82 days is not abnormal! I know the anxiety will make it seem like one year..but the RFE response time from USCIS is anywhere from 30-90 days average! Some get it earlier others even much later than 90days! They replied me after 60days though..early this year! On the other hand you can still enquire through your congressperson as it helps sometimes!

Average timeline is 30-90 days, average answer RFE is 45-65 days sometimes under today’s USCIS delays is up to 120 days

Hello VJ family,Trust you guys are holding up,I believe we will all have a reason to smile at the end of this journey,it’s been a while since I ask questions after having my EAD/AP,God has been so good to me,I got a nice job in the IT world 1.5 month after I got my EAD, since then have been silently following and reading.

Anyways have been anxiously waiting and waiting for a email/phone alert on my case.

Its been 16month (May filing)of silence on my case.

Praying for a miracle(approval)and for everyone here.
